What a great thrill to receive these photos from Dwight Blake whose grandmother, Ethel Kinney Blake (born 1890) was 39 at the time of this photo. She and her family traveled all over together. This trip was to our resort in 1929 from Worcester Mass. In the pictures are Dwight’s father, F. Turner Blake Jr (13 yr old) and his brother Charles Kinney Blake (Teddy) who was 7 yrs old (died when he was 14). Traveling with her mother plus her sister Katherine, and Katherine’s daughter Rosamond, from Cincinnati Ohio. His Grandmother and the Kinney family summered in York Cliffs Maine, so this would have been a change of pace by heading north to stay at the New Pines Inn. Thank you Dwight for sharing these photos showcasing the early history of The Pines.
