Welcome to 2021! We have a special Tea Time Talk this Thursday Jan 14 at noon to kick off the new year - with Professor Randy Goebel and Jason Morris! Professor Goebel is a co-founder of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute and is a long-standing expert in AI. He has a special interest in Law & AI, and co-supervised Jason Morris' LLM thesis in Computation Law Hope to see you there! A short presentation on a work in progress, recent article or experience, will be followed by open Q&A. The time block includes a "digital commute" allowing everyone to sign in and get settled. So few people understand how technology works and it’s effect on their lives. Lawyers, at least, need to be fearless and inquisitive about tech so as to make it equitable and just.
Applications Now Open to join Digital Law Cohort 2020!! The Digital Law Cohort is an opportunity for Juris Doctor students to engage with UAlberta’s digital law community through curricular and extracurricular offerings. Cohort members will have access to targeted learning opportunities, mentorship and cross-sector activities related to digital law. Students will have the opportunity to meet digital law experts and practitioners, and will receive recognition and support for their engagement. Applications are due July 21, 2020.
