Today marks the worst day of my life. 34 years ago I lost my dad to depression and mental illness...I can’t imagine what he was going thru at the time...not k...nowing where to turn to or who to reach out to...thinking this was his only way out....people are finally speaking up about mental illness and Suicide but so much work still needs to be done... please get involved or donate to your local mental health board and offer a listening ear or a helping hand to someone you see who is struggling...equip yourself with the tools to recognize the signs and act...if you are feeling depressed and working out a plan-reach out to someone...there are people who love you very much and want to help...we sometimes miss the signs... I knew he had all the signs...I didn’t ACT when he denied the fact he was thinking Suicide...now I live with the guilt and shame and immense pain of not knowing...if I could have been the difference to save him...
