DISCO Donates

There we go! I spent this week sleighing away, collecting all the donations from all the amazing people in York Region who participated in @discodonates this year! It was by far the best and most impactful as we had every Starbucks in the entire district of Markham, Richmond Hill and Aurora spread love, make awesome videos and really help promote something that wasn’t done by a famous person or charity, it wasn’t hosted by a big bank or really anybody important or with m...oney. I had amazing people literally send online orders to the office because they were not in the country. I had people donate gloves that were over $40 a pari?! (I’ve never owned such things, I LOVE IT). The generosity was so overwhelming, someone even donated $5.10, which I know meant that it was probably all they had :) - This is LOVE. . It really showed me that all people want when it comes to helping, is some form of guidance, a way to do it. Don’t get me wrong, we can’t just sit as a people and hope others will open doors for us, we must take individual initiative. BUT, look what happens when a single person DOES decide to actually TAKE ACTION. . After all, I did not put the items in the boxes. It wasn’t me who encouraged people to even participate. This was all on their own will. I would say 98% of people who actually participated did not know who I was. So again, I just want to encourage those who continue to have the mindset that an individual cannot make a difference, to at the very least, gather courage and just try. Everything I have ever done was so hard at first and needed so much mental strength. And whether I failed or succeeded, it was ALWAYS worth it. . LOOK HOW CUTE IT IS!! Today I got to the office and had mail for the first time. We are now getting gifts/online orders to be donated on others behalf who can’t make it out to a box. WOW.... This box was filled in less than 24hrs!! Thank you to the amazing staff and customers at Starbucks Boxgrove in Markham for the LOVE and support! Gifts can be purchased from ANY dollar store, we just want to keep men, women and children of all ages safe and warm this Holiday season and throughout the entire winter months! We can totally make a difference, we know because we’ve been doing it for YEARS!! THANK YOU

We are all ready to capture generosity and LOVE with our donation boxes at 24 participating Starbucks locations! That’s right, you can donate at all stores in Aurora, Richmond Hill and Markham!! This includes Markville Mall and 2 locations inside Hillcrest Mall! All larger items can be dropped off to York National Realty in Aurora. The campaign is running from Dec 1 through to Dec 15 2019.
