Good morning, the winter prep/tire season has been drawn out this year; weather, uncertainty, lock downs - it has been a different year. We are booking 3-4 weeks in advance and during these difficult times we need just a little extra from everyone. So just a few quick reminders when bringing your vehicle in your service. - If you have had a COVID test in the last 14 days or are waiting for results, please reschedule. - If someone in your house has been told to isolate or i...s waiting for test results, please reschedule. - If you have been in close contact with someone who tested positive in the last 14 days, please reschedule. - Please complete the MB Shared Health Covid self assessment and if you have any symptoms, please reschedule. - Please put your locking wheel nut in a cup holder or on the passenger seat. - Please remove all masks, coffee cups, and used tissues from the vehicle including the glove box. This is not a game to us; we are trusting that people are being honest and have found out after appointments that people were not truthful and think this is ok. We are spending extra time cleaning/sanitizing vehicles before and after every service to keep our staff and all the customers vehicles our staff are in/out of every day safe. We will be contacting customers the day before their appointments to go over a few questions. Please answer truthfully - getting your winter tires on and an oil change are not more important than other people’s health. Our office is still closed to the public and our customers have been great with online/phone payments, texting, and email communication. Stay safe!

Just a quick note to let people know as of today, August 24, 2020 we are going back to 100% contact less service. All appointments and payments can be arranged by calling the office at 204-255-2886. Our office door will be locked and all keys (fob and vehicle key only please!) can be dropped off 24 hours a day in our drop box. We still ask that customers use the provincial self screening test, do not bring your vehicle in if you have traveled out of province in the last 14... days or have any cold like symptoms. Please remove any used coffee cups, masks, and Kleenex from vehicles before bringing them in for service. We will be happy to reschedule any appointment for any reason; our staff and customers health and safety is more important than anything else at this time. *Our staff members self screen and sanitize upon arrival to work *Extra hand washing and sanitizing through the day *We have implemented a shared tool cleaning process *We have switched to plastic, easy to sanitize clip boards *We are unable to provide shuttle service at this time due to social distance rules *All high touch areas on customers vehicles are wiped down before and after service *Techs are wearing a new pair of nitrile gloves with every job *We ask that locking wheel nut sockets be placed in a cup holder or on the passenger seat *Etransfer and credit card payment by phone payments only We appreciate the extra effort our staff and customers are putting into keeping each other safe. We are all in this together and want everyone to stay healthy! This virus can not move on its own - let's all do our part......

Today is an exciting day at Discovery Automotive; 25 years ago today Kevin opened up shop with Doug Gagnon. Bullet Auto Service went strong until 2001 when Doug moved into the transmission business and Kevin remained operating out of the same location under the Discovery Automotive Centre name. We were planning a summer bbq which would have included a few beverages with the same format as our annual Christmas party - all our customers would have been invited! Unfortunately... this is all put on hold due to current provincial guidelines as we move forward through these uncertain times. All of our staff like to see our customers fed, happy, and with a beverage in hand; when permitted we will have a 25 year celebration! This month also marks 8 years that Logan has been in the front office. Her knowledge, work ethic, and need to help solve customers problems goes above and beyond what any business could ever expect. She is a very important part of our team! Cathy was our first contact, amazing front office person for over 12 years and the time she spent with Logan to get her ready for this job was very much appreciated. We have had a number of great staff and customers walk through our doors in the last 25 years and we look forward to meeting even more people in the years to come! Discovery Auto is working hard at keeping our customers and employees safe; office is locked and keys put into the key drop box - key and fob only please. Keys, vehicle interior contact areas, and exterior door handles are being wiped down before and after service. Payment can be made by etransfer or credit card over the phone. We are also a CAA Approved Auto Repair Facility which means you earn reward dollars that can be used towards your membership every time we have your... vehicle in for service!! Because of zero contact we are unable to swipe your CAA card at this time but are able to take your member number and manually enter it. We ask that if you have recently traveled out of province or have any flu like symptoms to please stay home and reschedule your appointment. As the weather warms up we are busy with seasonal tire switch overs and customers can expect we will be booked 10-12 working days in advance. Good morning! Discovery Automotive Centre is still open. As of today, April 1, 2020 our front door will be locked as we move to 100% zero contact service. Please remove any extra items from your key ring and put them in the marked key drop (vehicle key and fob only please). All payments can be made by phone or etransfer. Our priority is to keep our staff and customers safe at this time. If you have recently returned from travel or have any flu like symptoms please do not br...ing your vehicle in. We are doing our best with cleaning and wiping vehicles before and after service but need everyone’s cooperation. Long cloth lanyards on key rings and used Kleenex in cup holders or on the vehicles floor could mean we do not service your vehicle for safety reasons. We are working with slightly reduced hours (9-4) and any essential service vehicles/customers will be given priority. ZERO CONTACT SERVICE AVAILABLE If you are not comfortable coming into the office at this time, you are welcome to leave your car on the lot and leave your keys in our secure key drop on the front of the building. Just call (204-255-2886) or text us (204-782-5044) to let us know that you have done this and we can take it from there! The technicians are taking care to wear and switch gloves between each vehicle that is being worked on. Once the repairs are completed, your vehic...le will be wiped down/sanitized, including all hard surfaces and key fobs. From here we will make arrangements for key location. We can accept credit cards payments over the phone or e-transfer for payment. We are taking care to follow all precautions and are taking public health warnings very seriously while monitoring the current situation. Our customers are likely wondering if we are open so we thought we would share an update! Yes, we are open and yes, we are taking appointments. While we are still taking appointments, we are taking precautions and following the recommendations of the Public Health Departments to keep our employees and customers safe and healthy. These precautions include: - Employees will be using and changing their gloves with each vehicle that comes into the shop and will be wiping all ha...rd surfaces in vehicles - Hand sanitizer is available to all customers in the front office but we do also, of course, encourage hand washing with soap - POS machines, front counters, chairs and door handles will be sanitized after each customer - All surfaces will be sanitized several times a day, some, as listed above, after each customer - Should you have any concerns and don’t want to come into the office area, we have a key drop on the front of the building you are welcome to use at any time of day. We can get keys from there, take payment over the phone when repairs are completed and lock your keys in your vehicle for you to pick up later with your spare set of keys. - We know at this time things are even more uncertain for the elderly population and we wanted to extend our helping hands to those in need, both automotive and personal, don’t hesitate to get in touch! We are all in this together, taking the steps necessary to keep everyone as safe, healthy and comfortable as possible. Wishing Logan a very happy birthday today! Kevin had a hip replacement last week and all the staff have been working hard on his absence. They closed the shop over lunch and went to Kevin’s house for lunch, cake, and ice cream.
