Have some questions about Laser Hair Removal? Here's how the magic happens! Laser works when the hair pigment (melanin) absorbs the heat from the laser, which then damages the follicle and inhibits regrowth. Darker hair is easier to treat since the laser targets the hair’s pigment. This is why laser is unable to treat grey, white, blonde or red hair electrolysis would be a better solution instead. Here's a few reasons why we recommend beginning your laser journey in the winter: Avoid the sun and tanning in order to prevent skin discolouration and increased skin sensitivity post treatment. It is recommended to avoid prolonged, direct sun exposure, self-tanning lotions, as well as tanning beds minimum 2 weeks before any laser hair removal treatment. Since it is winter-time (and we're in the middle of a pandemic), it's easier now than ever to avoid the sun!... Sunscreen is highly recommended to use immediately after the treatment and continued use throughout the series of appointments.
