Another blackout. Thankfully it only lasted an hour. So here are some lessons learned tonight: - make sure you know where your battery packs are so you can keep your phone charged. - make sure said battery packs are fully charged. - if you have purchased battery powered fans with lights to use during blackouts, make sure you have periodically checked that they are charged unless you like staring at two fans just sitting on the ground while you sweat. - making little paper f...ans to fan yourself is not an effective means of staying cool. - no matter how much your neighbour's dog likes you because you feed it all the time, it will still bark, growl and consider you an intruder when you walk by the house it's guarding in the darkness of a blackout. - the neighbour's are well prepared for blackouts as their karaoke systems keep blasting away even in a blackout. Only a couple of months ago we were complaining about the rains and pining for it to end. After a relatively dry couple of months we're loving the smell of the rain as it falls this evening. We won't have many more wet days as we head into hottest and driest season in a couple months. Job 26 8 He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst beneath their weight.... 9 He obscures the view of His throne, spreading His cloud over it. 10 He laid out the horizon on the surface of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness. 11 The pillars that hold up the sky tremble, astounded at His rebuke. 12 By His power He stirred the sea, and by His understanding He crushed Rahab. 13 By His breath the heavens gained their beauty; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.[a] 14 These are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the word we hear of Him! Who can understand His mighty thunder? See more

Mango harvesting has begun again at our house. Praying that we will also see fruit this year in the lives of our local leaders. Please continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will empower and embolden them.

Another look into life in Cambodia. I cut my pinky finger on a broken dish last week and had to get stitches. Today I went to get the stitches removed and it was quite amusing. The doctor was removing the stitches and he and the nurse were discussing if they got it all. The nurse is pointing out the areas to the doctor and then she whips out her cell phone in order to use the flashlight on my finger to see better. Points for resourcefulness.

The adventures of coming in and out of our house continues. We asked them to fill in the trench a bit in our front so we can take the car out. Initially they said we would need to pay $15 but then later the boss said they can't do it at all. But hopefully in the next day or so they will do it.

Sometimes surprises are great. We were surprised to see mangoes already starting to grow on one of our trees... Can't believe it will be mango season again.
