Kudos to Brenda Munn, Anna Mae Basque, and all their helpers who made Doaktown Community Garden such a success this summer.
Made a visit to the Doaktown Community Garden this evening. What a wonderful job by Brenda, Anna Mae, and all the volunteers. Another thing that proves what can be done when people work together.
Drop into the community garden and see what we have accompolished this week!!! You won't believe what we have done! Gardens may be planted anytime!!!
The plan is to make Doaktown Community Garden as smart looking as this. Brenda Munn and Anna Mae Basque along with some Scouts will be at the garden Monday, evening, May 30 at 6:30. Looking forward for a few helping hands. See you then!
I dropped in to the Doaktown Community Garden last evening. I was surprised to see how much work has been done, and how many garden plots are producing. Great to see people interested in growing their own fresh produce. A big shout out to Brenda Munn and all the others who have been so busy this year.
The Doaktown Community Garden is looking for chain link fencing. Anyone have an idea where it could be obtained cheaply? We are getting better at growing vegetables but the deer are liking it too. We will soon be assigning plots. Drop a comment here IF you are interested. The raised beds are great for seniors or those with mobility problems.
Harvest Time Is Here! Time to gather the produce and clean up the plot. Looks like the raised beds were quite successful. Now to make green tomato pickles!
As many of you are finding out, the raised beds with added compost were a success. I would ask those who have a plot at our Community Garden to do something for me. Please take a few pictures that show your success, maybe pictures of children picking vegetables, etc. if you decide to give any produce to Self Help, a picture of that would be very appropriate. The season is quickly coming to an end, so now there is a little detail of completing a final report. Thanks, Delmer
Looks like there is some rain coming our way to get our gardens growing. There are already lots of great things growing in all of our plots. Can you guess what each plant is?
