We love to have guitars in the shop that are really different, and so here is another entry from the ‘You Don’t See These Every Day’ file. It’s a new release from Eastwood called the ‘Wolf’ based on the well-known guitar used by The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. About two years ago the famous Wolf guitar sold at auction for over $1.9 million. Many people wanted a tribute model and here it is at a substantially lower price! Eastwood’s Wolf Guitar pays tribute to the origina...l in almost every detail including coil taps and effects loop. It has been manufactured in the top Korean factory and has a true neck-thru design, not a bolt-on or set neck. This one is sold, but ask us about getting you another. COLOR: Natural BODY: Walnut Middle, Maple and Walnut Top and Back, Poly finish NECK: Neck Thru, Basic C Shape, Maple and Walnut, dual truss rod FINGERBOARD: Ebony, 5 Ply Binding, Pearloid inlays SCALE LENGTH: 25.5" WIDTH AT NUT: 1 5/8 " PICKUPS: HS II, 2 x Super II CONTROLS: OBEL Effects Loop, Switchcraft Jacks, 1 Volume, 2 Tone, 5-Way HARDWARE: Gotoh Nickel/Chrome SPECIAL FEATURES: Built-in Transwarp Drive Preamp (Gain) with 9V Batt

We were glad to help out recently when the Shambhala School needed some additional keyboards for their music program. Dockside Music is a Yamaha dealer, so with the assistance of Yamaha Canada, we were able to get their students learning and playing with great quality Yamaha keyboards at a reasonable price. They look happy to get them!

Happy Holidays! Here's a heads up on something new that we've been working on for a long time and is coming up in the new year. We're kicking off another new program at Dockside Music. Starting in January, we will be offering a kids music program for kids who are too young for regular lessons. We have been getting inquiries about lessons for kids who are under 6, the usual age to start lessons. After some searching for the right instructor, we found Samantha, an early childh...ood educator, and working with her we were able to put together a group program that will both entertain and inform kids with introductory music experiences. Samantha will lead the group in singing along, clapping in rhythm, dancing and movement to music, as well as some exposure to a variety of instruments including how they work and sound, and basic music staff and note recognition. We're targeting kids 4 to 7 years old for this program. Book early, there's a limited number of spaces for this 5 week course, on Saturday afternoons. Contact Dave at Dockside Music to inquire or sign up. [email protected] or 902 422-1234. See more

We have been looking forward to this announcement for years. After much discussion and preparation, we are pleased to announce the availability of two related new programs here at Dockside. Now that we’re established in our new, larger location, we've added some recording studio equipment, and with the recent addition of our new instructor Jacob, we are pleased to present Dockside's recording facility. We will be offering basic recording services for customers and students, a...long with lessons in home recording. Before anyone contacts us to compare microphone preamps and studio gear specs, we want to be clear that’s not where we’re heading. There are other places for pros to record, so those inclined to high-end pro audio should look elsewhere. We are developing a facility where beginners, regular folks, and students can access grass-roots multitrack digital recording services, along with lessons to develop recording skills that you can use at home. You can choose to do a recording, have lessons in recording, or a combination of both. Much of the focus for both recording and lessons will be on Garageband, an affordable and versatile program that’s included with many Macs and available for Windows-based systems. Getting started on recording software without instruction is a tough hill to climb, but with some guidance most people can learn to produce decent quality recordings at home or on the go, with lots of features, like full editing capability. Once you’ve seen the process work it will change the way you think about recorded music. No intimidation here. Yes, you are talented enough. We’ll welcome a broad range of projects, with the assurance that helping someone with a recording or developing the skills required is our main goal. We can even contribute musically to your project (optional) if you need additional instruments to complete the sound you’re after. We’ve run two test projects so far, one to record and add additional instrumentation to a folk song, and we were surprised to learn that the second request was to record a soundtrack for meditation. Both were completed satisfactorily and now we’re ready for more. Here’s the best part. Did we mention that this unique service is available for just the regular price of lessons? You can do a recording, learn about the process and the equipment, and the cost is just $110 for five 30-minute sessions. Contact [email protected] for more info.
