FEBRUARY 1ST, 2020 My first glimpse of the North. Flying over the arctic on a Canadian North flight, to begin my exciting new journey in Sanirajak Over 9 months have passed- it's been a great adventure so far!
A beautiful sunset looking across the runway at the Sanirajak Airport Airports in the North are so vital, they are the only way to travel to and from remote communities in Nunavut. It is how important food and supplies are sent all year round to the amazing people in this Northern community, Sanirajak and many others!
February. 2nd, 2020 I arrived in Sanirajak, Nunavut to began my new adventure in the North and began a new career with The Northwest Company. I took this photo of Sanirajak upon my arrival, it was in the heart of winter. It was minus forty degrees at this time; I learned in the first five minutes not to touch a piece of metal without wearing winter gloves. ... But I mainly remember how clean and crisp the air was, so refreshing. It was just the start of seeing the beauty of Northern Canada!
A winter view in February 2020.
I moved from Newfoundland and Labrador to Nunavut in early February to take advantage of a career opportunity with The Northwest Company. The beauty of the territory is too amazing not to share. So I plan to use this page to share interesting facts, stunning views and positive posts about Nunavut. Feel free to share with your friends and family that may want to learn about Northern Canada!... - Donald Slaney
