We are so pleased that Point Ellice House in Victoria opens "Springs and Scavengers" today! The new exhibit tackles the history of waste and water in Victoria through the lens of privilege, public health, and racism. This exhibit is more timely than we could have imagined, with the emergence of Covid-19 and with racial tensions reaching a boiling point across Canada. The exhibit is available to see by appointment on Saturdays. Book your spot today! https://pointellicehouse.com/

A few years ago, I worked with the North Vancouver Museum and Archives to design and produce the exhibit "Chief Dan George: Actor & Activist". I was thrilled to read that it continues to make a positive impact in communities across British Columbia.

Double Dare Design is very proud to have been part of the revitalization of the Point Ellice House in Victoria. We lead the design/build of the museum’s first feature exhibit, "The Politics of Luxury, as well as a new Visitor Centre. Under the direction of the new Executive Director, Kelly Black, we developed a self guided experience with a new narrative for the house that investigates the influence of the O'Reilly family in BC's colonial settler history. ... We were privileged to work with an amazing team, including the talented Don Enright, Ria Kawaguchi, and Marjolaine Brabander. We owe many thanks to Edda Creative (and many more in the Rock Bay area) for making our vision a reality. If you are in Victoria, check it out! It opens today. https://www.vicnews.com//point-ellice-house-exhibit-offer/

Monday morning food-for-thought. It can be challenging to choose the most suitable design for an exhibit. What's the best way to choose?

In case you missed seeing this in Australia, we've got your back! We worked with Dinosaurs Unearthed design their most recent animatronic offering, featuring two dozen full size sea creatures, both indoors and out. Our favourites are the mythological ones, see if you can spot them!

It's been a while since I worked on a feature film. Working on NAM3 this spring was pretty fun... it was a lot like my regular exhibition design job, only FASTER. =^) My design work gets smashed to bits by a Triceratops skeleton at 1:30!

Let's hear it for 11 year old Lily! She designed these hard to spill cups for her grandfather, who suffers from Parkinson's.
