I hope everyone is doing alright. I'm staying away from social media more at this time, because I know that is best for my head and heart. I am feeling pretty happy with more time to get outside, to knit, to daydream and read books (also to binge watch Vikings).I am over the moon with discovering how many bits of nature are returning around the globe, as humans are forced to step back slightly. Clearer skies, cleaner water, the return of creatures to places they'd had to flee... due to human intervention...these are all good things. Probably my biggest worry at this time, is that people will get back to "business as usual," jump back into cars, planes and the general pollution our lifestyles create. I don't feel anxious about a virus, or illness. I am cautious of spreading it, but have managed to stay out of the fear category. Mostly, I feel anxious about humans. I fear the blinders we wear. I fear our lack of community and society in favour of economy. I love humans, and fear for them, and hope with all my heart that massive change comes sooner than later, and we let this be a catalyst instead of a speed bump. My love to you all. Be well. Find connection. Get dirty #rewilding

Telling people not to be afraid doesn't work, but being there to listen DOES. In my personal life and my work, I've watched the way fear stalls everything. So in this time, when things are going a bit wild around us, reach out. Even if it's not in person. Don't let the idea of "social and personal isolation measures' be the finishing thread on a cocoon of fear.... We needed change. A part of me hopes that this is a catalyst to bring new ideas forward. If you need a friend, find me here(I also still go out, with emphasis on cleanliness). If you need a doula, ask about my digital services if you want some love while navigating a big transitional event through times of massive fear, but don't want someone in your home. If you need a therapist, @mindonlinetherapy works digitally, and could advise you to other folks who do if she's too busy. Be well. Find space to relax. Bolster your immunity (I'm on full time chaga tea consumption, vitamins and adaptogenic herbs) Reach out when you need to. Ask for help if you need it. Wash your hands. Get good sleep. And even if you feel safer staying out of public places, go outside! Let the fresh air touch your lungs and skin. It offers more healing than anything else. #doula #digitaldoula #birth #postpartum #bewell #rewilding #pandemicsurvival See more

I am excited to start offering Digital Doula services as part of my work! The support, expertise and function of doula work, shared in the digital landscape. I am hopeful that this offering will both make doula support more accessible for families, and offer something to those that want the care and connection, but choose to have another person support them in the birth room. An online visit would go much the same as any in person visit--... a safe space to discuss the emotional climate of birth, navigating the maternal health care system, practical preparations, and/or planning for postpartum. We can debrief previous experiences. We can sit together while your baby nurses, and connect about the rigours of new parenthood. We can cry together, or laugh together. We can talk rites of passage and ritual, or stick to the immediate realities. I offer menstrual, preconception, birth and postpartum doula support in person, and now that nurturing can be accessed online! Find more info or book at the link in my bio! #digitaldoula #birthdoula #postpartumdoula #bodymindspirit #empowerment #rewilding See more

Hey everyone! I'm kind of excited to have made my first blog post ever. Some changes are coming to my business in the near future(and I'll share when I'm ready) but I really wanted to share my vision--my dreams, my hope for the future, and the motivation behind what I do and offer for a living. Dreams don't become realities if you can't share the vision and find your people. So here I am, sending this vision out into the Universe!... www.doulalizwhite.com/blog/a-greater-vision
