Iconic book that raised awareness of the effects of harmful chemicals in our environment. Many of these chemicals have been banned decades ago- and yet they are still found in the wildlife, in our food, in our bodies and in our children. Our arrogance in believing that Nature is here for our convenience, without regard for our place within Her system will be our demise. ... The increase in chronic illness in our population, of cancers in our young, reduced fertility, etc. rose with the increase in industrialization, the valuation of capital and drive for profit at any cost. And it has cost us dearly. This is an important read if you want to understand the impact of environmental toxicity on our health and our environment. It's as relevant today as it was when it was written.
