We can't talk about digestion without talking about diet. While I don't believe there's *one* right diet that suits everyone, there are some nutrition basics that'll get nearly everybody moving in a good direction. And, lucky for us, @michael.pollan sums those up nicely in his book - In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto. It's clear, concise, and easy to digest (). I highly recommend it... along with any of his other books on food and nutrition. Do you have any favourite food books? Let me know in the comments!

I’ve been spending a lot of extra time in the kitchen lately. Maybe it’s an effort to escape the living room/office/gym? We’ve been *spicing* up our menu by experimenting with more flavours and flavour combinations. Herbs and spices are a great way to add excitement to home-cooking. And, bonus!, they add more than just flavour. Herbs and spices can be used along a more comprehensive plan to support your digestive system. Here are 3 of the main actions and corresp...onding herbs to include in cooking or as teas. - Calming bloating and gas (carminative herbs): ginger, peppermint, cumin, lemon balm - Modulating inflammation responses to heal inflamed tissues: turmeric, basil - Regulating your microbiome: garlic, oregano Spice up your kitchen routine. Get a little herby. Your taste buds and your body will thank you for it. What are your favourite spices right now? See more

A wonderful reminder, sparked during my at-home yoga this morning. Seems fitting for this Easter weekend too.

We spent this afternoon on our bikes today and it was just what we needed. It was a perfect escape, just like the day @grahamgibsn captured with this shot last summer.
