Happy Monday everyone! As York has moved into lockdown we have decided to temporarily close our office. If you would like to come to see us in person give us a call and we can schedule an appointment. Nothing will really change other than we will not physically be in the office monday-friday. Hello Everyone, Currently at Dracup Insurance we are open and allowing limited clients in at a time mostly with scheduled appointments. We are working from both the office and from home. Depending on changes in phases in York Region we will consider shutting down the office again. If that happens we will let you know immediately. All of our brokers are always reachable through phone or email. Again, because of so many changes please have patience with us and leave a voicemail if you do not reach someone immediately. Update on Insurance companies: During this time some companies have come forward with ways to help those for the times. Please contact your broker for questions on these measures. There are no overarching "discounts" for your insurance at this time.

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and for those who can, are staying home. Many of you have heard of insurance rate changes that are supposedly coming. This has not happened yet. So far some companies are offering payment deferrals where they will defer payments but then disperse them equally over future payments. Please contact your broker for further information about payment deferrals and other options if this is something that can help you temporarily through this difficult time. Stay safe and stay home!

Following the concerns with the spread of COVID-19 everyone at Dracup Insurance will be working from home as of tomorrow (Tuesday, March 17th 2020). Tired of your rates always going up? Rates going up has to do with many factors, the more claims and higher payouts there are the higher the rates must go up to ensure the insurance companies are not losing money. In the GTA and the golden horseshoe rates are going up an average of about 11%-15%. As brokers we have no say in this but we can make sure you have the best coverage for you and you are with the best company to suit your needs. Brokers are important because we are here to make insurance make sense, even in the worst of times!

Winter weather is back in full swing and so are difficult driving conditions. We cannot stress enough how important it is to take your time getting to your destination. Remember that single vehicle accidents are considered at fault accidents and that is a best case scenario. You could be risking your life and others. Leave with some extra time to get to work or school and if you're late, you're late, you also got there safe, and that's the important thing!
