While breast augmentation is one of the more common procedures we perform @theplasticsurgeryclinic , I am now seeing more patients who have reached a different stage in their life and are seeking removal of their breast implants. . . This patient had implants for 16 years but found that after pregnancy and breast feeding her breasts were just too heavy. She wanted the implants removed and the overall size of the breasts reduced. After taking out the old implants and capsule,... a vertical scar breast reduction allowed me to bring the nipples back to the centre of the breast mound, achieving a natural appearance to the breast with much less weight on the chest. . . When thinking about revision breast implant surgery, patients often have the choice between implant removal alone, removal with a lift, removal and replacement with a new implant, removal and replacement with a new implant and a lift, and removal and replacement with their own fat (and maybe a lift!)... just to name a few A confusing number of options eh!?
