CoQ10 is an amazing nutrient that can help reduce the frequency and intensity of migraines! CoQ10 lowers a pain receptor associated with migraines which in turn reduces migraine intensity. At Valeo it is available in an injection allowing for greater absorption and fewer side effects.

Migraine relief with CoQ10 injections! CoQ10 is an antioxidant that is naturally produced in the body. And it can help reduce pain during a migraine! A pain related protein, CGRP, is increased during a migraine. CoQ10 has the ability to reduce the amount of CGRP which means pain is reduced! Having optimal levels can help prevent a migraine and dosing during a migraine can reduce pain. If you suffer from migraines, reach out and let’s try a CoQ10 injection!

Food Sensitivity Testing! A sensitivity is different from an allergy. An allergy is an immediate reaction to a food. A sensitivity is a delayed response that can take 24-72hrs to present. Because of that long window for a reaction it can be difficult to narrow down sensitivities. The food sensitivity test is a blood test to look at IgG reactions (specific immune cells). The foods are then eliminated based on severity of reaction. Common food sensitivity symptoms include:... Digestive complaints - gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, heartburn, etc Rash - eczema Migraines Fatigue Any questions? Comment below or send me a DM!

Heartburn is one of my favourite conditions to treat! It is common for heart burn or acid reflux to be caused by too little stomach acid. Without enough stomach acid the stomach does not close which allows acid to come back up your throat. Increasing stomach acid will signal the stomach to close and stop the heartburn. Heartburn medications will decrease or block stomach acid production which stops the problem but leads to other problems. It can be possible to come off of your acid blockers/PPIs. (Some patients need to stay on them though!) Let me help you stop your heartburn medications!

Vitamin D is so important! Canadians have chronically low Vitamin D levels. For only a short portion of the year, the sun is high enough in the sky for us to create Vitamin D in our skin. During the winter months there is very very little to no Vitamin D production from the sun. Supplementation can be important for a lot of people (although it is important to check with your naturopathic doctor or medical doctor before starting). At Valeo, I offer Vitamin D injections for high absorption of high doses to replace your oral supplementation. Comment below or send me a DM with any questions! Or schedule your vitamin D injection to get optimal vitamin D levels!

Microneedling facials!! Microneedling causes microtrauma to the skin which stimulates collagen production. Collagen helps improve the integrity, texture and complexion of the skin! Pore sizes will decrease, skin will feel smoother and complexion will be clearer. Microneedling facials can be done with hyaluronic acid or PRP (which comes from your own blood). Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the skin to keep skin fuller. PRP has the platelets needed for healing to stimulate collagen and healing a bit faster. Questions about microneedling? Comment below, DM me or schedule a 15 minute meet and greet.

Neural prolotherapy. When TRPV1 receptors are activated on a nerve, there is a release of inflammatory molecules. This causes pain! Mannitol (a sugar) is injected and binds to the TRPV1 receptor. This inhibits the release of inflammatory molecules and restores normal nerve function. This reduces your pain!! Effects occur within a few minutes! Message me to find out if neural prolotherapy is what you need to be pain free!

Dr. Brittany Jeffries | ND 24.09.2020

Before my patients receive a regenerative joint injection, prolotherapy or PRP, there will be a physical exam. This helps determine the pain generators. Then I draw all over your joint to mark major landmarks and where I will inject. Then you get injected! Wondering if prolotherapy or platelet rich plasma is right for you? Schedule a meet and greet or send me a DM!

Customized IV therapy! IV therapy can be more beneficial than oral supplementation for some people. Oral supplements are digested and absorbed through the intestines to the bloodstream. IV therapy is put directly into the bloodstream. From the bloodstream the body then delivers the nutrients to the needed cells! Bypassing digestion is extremely beneficial if there are any digestive complaints. Absorption may be limited with intestinal irritation. IV therapy allows for maximum absorption. Wondering if IV therapy is right for you? Send me a DM and let’s chat!

But I’m taking a B12 supplement, why do I need injections? Did you know there are many reasons that a B12 supplement is not absorbed properly? If it is a sublingual (under the tongue) supplement then that’s great! If it is a pill you swallow, you may not be absorbing it properly. The main reasons for needing a B12 injection are:... Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s/Ulcerative Colitis) Taking an acid blocker for acid reflux (PPIs) IBS Digestive complaints such as diarrhea or constipation The main reasons are all digestion related because you cannot absorb the B12 properly. If it is injected, it bypasses digestion and goes straight to the bloodstream. Most common reason for B12 injections is fatigue! DM or follow the link in my bio to schedule your quick 15 minute appointment for a B12!

There are 2 forms of Vitamin D. Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D3 is found mainly in animal foods such as fish, eggs and cod liver oil. Vitamin D2 is mostly in fortified foods such as cereal. Both are available in supplement form. If Vitamin D is needed for a patient, I always recommend my patients take a Vitamin D3 supplement! One study found that Vitamin D3 was nearly twice as effective at increasing vitamin D levels in the blood when ...compared to Vitamin D2. Vitamin D injections at Valeo are Vitamin D3 form to ensure optimal absorption! More questions about Vitamin D? DM me or comment below!

IV therapy has advantages over oral supplements! 1. Oral supplements have to be digested before being absorbed in to the bloodstream. IV therapy administers vitamins and minerals directly in to the bloodstream bypassing digestion. This allows for greater absorption! 2. Higher doses can be given in an IV. Digestive upset can occur with higher doses of some nutrients but that does not happen with an IV. So higher doses without the side effects! 3. Higher absorption and higher d...oses with IV therapy means greater benefits and less frequency! No more taking your supplements every day! Come to Valeo, relax in a recliner and get all your vitamins and minerals in an IV bag!

Platelet Rich Plasma (aka PRP) PRP is the liquid gold in the tube. This all comes from your own blood!! The PRP is extracted and injected back in to an injured joint. This is helpful after an injury or osteoarthritis has begun to develop. Commonly injected joints are shoulder, knees and hips. Reach out if you have any questions!

Prolotherapy is a form of regenerative injection technique. It uses sugar to trigger the natural healing cascade by causing inflammation. The healing cascade then heals the nagging injury further. The irritation by the sugar causes the body to heal the damaged structure. If you have a nagging injury that you would like to be resolved, send me a DM and we can determine if prolotherapy is the right option for you!
