With Covid cases rising in Canada and India this is a great Marketplace exposé to guide our mask buying and mask wearing decisions. Bottom line: material matters, # of layers (usually) matters, as does thread count of cotton. Valve masks DO NOT stop the spread.... Together, we can protect ourselves and each other. https://www.cbc.ca//canada/marketplace-masks-test-1.5795481 #masks #staysafe #naturopathicdoctor #virtualnd

Practice update: Ottawa Integrative Health Centre patients!! Despite being in India, I will continue to conduct virtual/video appointments to follow up with your care/treatment plans. We use Jane app which is super user friendly!!... And the beauty of working with an amazing integrative team of practitioners means that if you need a physical exam or labs, I can easily refer you to one of my competent colleagues at the OIHC for smooth continuity of care. Fall is here. Fall is a time for change. A time for renewed reflection and reinvigoration. 2020 has been full of uncertainty and change...that is 100% true. ... But despite the rollercoaster, fall colours still, (especially, always) make me feel calm, grateful and at peace. No matter the changes, like the trees, we are resilient. Take a moment wherever you are, to breathe in the autumn changes that surround you. Stand tall, ground your feet and feel the earth beneath you. Be strong. Be resilient. Embrace the colours of change. And if you're into art, or not into your broccoli this week, here is a simple art idea for you or your little one(s) to pass the time and ease into a peaceful transition to Fall. Remember, one floret for the art, the rest of the broccoli in your belly!! #drChristineNguyenND #foodismedicine #arttherapy #resilientYou #autumncolours

Well, it's back to school time! Whether school is virtual or just homework, here are some great tips for your little one working at home on a laptop. The best set up is one that is customized to your child's size and height. Take frequent breaks to stretch, change position and rejuvenate (get outdoors as much as possible to get fresh air, Vitamin D, and blow off some physical energy)! ... Laptops are not the most ergonomic for prolonged use, so another reason frequent breaks are necessary. I don't love tummy/prone for prolonged periods either but incorporating a collection of short lived postures and positions that are customized to your child can definitely help ensure variety for your child and that schoolwork is not contributing to your child's physical ailments. Stay healthy everyone. More to come!

I'm starting a guided group meditation group tomorrow based on a program by Deepak Chopra. Day 1 is Monday June 15. Please message me if you'd like to join as soon as possible. ------ Hello beautiful people! I hope you are receiving this message with an open heart and it may have been a while since we have been in touch.... Sending my best wishes to you and your loved ones during this unprecedented time. You have all made an impression on me at some point during my life, and given the current challenges we are all encountering in our daily lives, I’ve been trying to be more mindful of the energy and intention that I bring into my life. I invite you to join me on a journey towards abundance. This program by Deepak Chopra is meant to support you in cultivating the habit of abundance! It is intentional, powerful and prosperous! We will work together to open the flow of abundance by committing to a 21 day practice. This may help you facilitate starting a new habit of mindfulness and meditation, or provide you new perspective and tools on how to reflect and cultivate the abundance in your life. What it is: I will post daily, providing a link to a meditation and a task to complete, which involves writing in a notebook. This program is developed by Deepak Chopra; I will simply be the facilitator of this group and 21-day process. This program requires commitment and accountability. It is a closed group and a safe space for meditation, personal growth and discovery. I truly hope you can join me if you feel you are interestd! I am seeing the benefits in my day to day. Day 1 will be on Monday June 15th. Be well. Live, Laugh, Love, Christine
