BOXING DAY DRAMA UNFOLDS Almost frozen, and an openly bleeding tear in her chest, she had been in the lake for way too long! York Regional Police Marine Unit o...fficers Pete & Ian raced to the scene at Civic Centre Rd at Lake Simcoe. The 200 pound doe was desperately trying to get out of the water and onto the pier. With terror in her eyes, she thrashed as she could not get over the ice and rocks. With great innovation and strength, our YRP officers fashioned a sling and safely brought her to shore. She was loaded into their truck and rushed to SOH. Our new patient is now safely wrapped in warming blankets. She has been assessed by Dr Cliff and treated for her injuries and exposure. She is hooked up to warm IV fluids and we are hoping she will recover fully. The drama is still unfolding!!
We would like to send our support and well wishes for a speedy recovery to the Hamilton Police Service members who were involved in this critical incident. https://www.thespec.com//three-hamilton-police-officers-st
