Return to ArcGIS ... this time to the new "Pro" version. First map. Note the Drumheller centric framing ... the centre of my little universe.
A Miles Davis of Geology. Proposed mega-flood origin of the Channelled Scablands, Washington State. His catastrophic theory faced fierce opposition. It took 30 years of research to prove the theory. Bretz received the Penrose Medal, the Geological Society of America's highest award, in 1979, at the age of 96.[13] After this award, he told his son: "All my enemies are dead, so I have no one to gloat over.... Bretz nicknamed his home "Boulderstrewn" because of all the rocks and minerals he collected.

I have been asked to review an academic Geotourism paper from an Iranian geologist. Iran is a leader in Geotourism IMO, I feel honored.

Ice age prairie dog burrows in the Hand Hills with Tim Schowalter. I enjoy Tim's science: he's is not dogmatic (ie married to a theory) and brings two perspectives to the table, biology and geology. On top of any depositional environment (geology) is an ecosystem (biology). An integrated approach is needed.
