We carry aeration systems for all your aeration needs! There are three main types of aeration systems we get asked about: electric, solar and wind. Our principal electric aeration system is the Can-Air complete kit. This system comes with a Kasco-Marine compressor, 100' of airline, and a diffuser. The starting price on these is $1551. An Eco model of the Can-Air is also available, it uses a different diffuser and is meant for smaller ponds/dugouts or koi ponds. If you're aera...ting a large dugout/lake/lagoon, there are also different models such as the Can-Air Mega, Pro and Pro XL available. We can also bring in solar aeration. These systems come with 2 panels, a compressor, and necessary parts. These models do not come with batteries so they only work when the sun is shining. Their starting price is $7,365. We also sell wind aeration. The windmills we offer are made by Outdoor Water Solution. The smallest windmill has a 12' tower, and includes 100' of polyline and an air stone, and is priced at $2,820. Let us know if you have any questions, we are happy to work with you to find what best suits your dugouts needs! #aeration #dugout #trout #aquaculture #saskag

We have been asked a couple times this year on how to deal with duckweed in a dugout. My understanding is that duckweed indicates that your water body has a lot of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water. Duck weed likes still water so aeration will slow it's growth. You can also manually remove the duckweed out of the water. There are a number of uses for duck weed such as compost or if you have poultry etc feeding duckweed to them. I am attaching a YouTube video of a young fellow in Alberta on how he uses duckweed on his farm.

We get a lot of questions about how many fish can we put in an average/standard sized dugout. The easy answer is the recommended stocking rate is 200-300 fish to the acre. The long answer is that the PFRA had 5 standard dugout sizes. It helps us a lot if you can tell us the dimensions of your dugout and we can look at our cheat sheet. I am putting our cheat sheet below. This information is also available in the Government of Saskatchewan paper Aquaculture in Saskatchewan. ... 59’x118 0.15 Acres 50 fish 65’x164 0.24 Acres 75 fish 175’x196 0.34 Acres 100 fish 275’x246 -0.42 Acres 125 fish 98’x196 0.49 Acres 150 fish

Due to popular demand we are currently not accepting any more orders for 6-7" fish. We still have lots of 5-6" and 4-5" fish available.

Every year at this time we start to receive calls and messages from people asking if we sell our fish for stocking into dugouts or ponds on private land. The ...answer is no, we do not sell our fish. Our role in the provincial fishery is to produce walleye, trout and occasionally northern pike for release into public waters. Our fingerlings and fry have pre-determined homes before they even hatch. The Saskatchewan Fish Hatchery is administered by the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and our work is funded through Saskatchewan’s Fish and Wildlife Development Fund (FWDF). The FWDF now receives 30% of the revenue generated from all fur, angling and hunting licenses sold in the province. The waters we stock are determined by fisheries biologists working within Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Environment. Together, the three bodies work to enhance public angling opportunities across Saskatchewan. That’s how it all works! If you are looking to buy fish for your private dugout or pond, we are currently aware of two hatcheries in the province that sell rainbow trout. Keet’s Fish Farm is located near Saskatoon and they can be reached at (306) 668-4535. Dryland Fisheries is located at Golden Prairie (near Leader) and their phone number is (306) 661-8272. If you know of other private hatcheries feel free to let us know for future reference. #FishHatchery #Saskatchewan #Fisheries #Aquaculture #FishStocking #Trout #Walleye #Fishing #Angling See more

We just got our trout eggs for the 2021 fish season and while we did not make a new video of the egg arrival this year, we figured we would share the video we made from last year. The process is basically the same every year, so take a peak and see what happens the day the eggs arrive! Feel free to share the video! https://youtu.be/QkMMOV-rTNM
