REGISTRATION FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON IS NOW OPEN! The OWHA had partnered with a new online registration system called RAMP Interactive. As we plan for the 2020-2021 season you will be required to create a new profile before we can access your OWHA account. Once your profiles are created you and your child will be able to sign Association waivers and codes of conduct including Rowan's Law on line to help expedite the registration process. No more paperwork is required. As w...e continue to work with Provincial health and hockey partners on a plan to return to hockey we are pleased to announce that we have opened the registration system. While we do not know exactly what this hockey season will look like, we want you to know that we are 100% committed to getting back to the game as soon as possible. At this time we are not asking for any financial contribution. We are asking you to get ahead of the crazy times and create your new RAMP profile and provide a non-binding intent to play with Durham West. Only players need to register at this time and simply into the division for which they would play based on age group. As a reminder Hockey Canada has adopted a new division naming convention. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice. See more

Art Carefoote was the original President of the Durham West Girls Hockey Association and his contributions to hockey in our community will never be forgotten. One of our fellow Lightning players, Jaime Zaharias, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She and her family need our help! At 15, Jaime is the youngest of 5 children to her parents Peter and Carole. She is in the 10th grade, loves playing rep hockey, and spending time with her friends and family.

Last month, DWGHA was visited by the Team from Hunter's Sports to complete our player and team pictures. Lots of great smiles across all of the Teams! Sabrina Quinn from Tyke Grey and Charly Haynes from PW B gave us their best smiles! We want to thank all the players and their families for taking the time to attend. We also want to thank Hunter's Sports for their support of DWGHA!

Together, the Durham West Jr. Lightning raised $370 for the Cancer Society. It was great to have 5 Atom Durham West players join them on the ice for their warm-up and pre-game skate. In addition, we had the refs wear special pink jerseys and our own score keeper Kevin also wore pink!
