Yes, it is comparable.

There’s no light pollution on Mars to spoil the view...

We got our conjunction shot last night! The GIF is now complete- at least up until the 21st. We'll keep taking more over the next few days and post a follow up ...later this or next week as Jupiter keeps cruising past Saturn. #TrackThePlanets The two planets are still pretty close together this evening and next, but it'll get harder and harder to see them as they get lost in the sunset. Did you get to see the planets in conjunction?

Rod DeVries was able to catch the great conjunction of December 21st from 39,000 feet somewhere over the state of Wyoming!!

We couldn’t see it here due to the cloud conditions. Also, unlike many of the memes we saw floating around on the internet (which featured the star cluster the Pleiades) on the topic, it would not have been any more brighter than normal. It’s still cool though and we wish we could have seen it. Oh well. Perhaps if you eat right and take your vitamins, maybe you’ll get a chance to see it next time.

This is Mars now which is looking a whole lot better than what it is looking like outside my house right now.

At 6:30pm from Medicine Hat this evening, Jupiter was due south at about 30 degrees in the sky. It’s big and bright-you can’t miss it. Just above and to the left of it is Saturn. Then due east at about 30 degrees is Mars, which red and bright. Take a look if it’s clear!

I don’t know how they got this amazing shot, but this is the ISS going across the Moon.
