We welcome 2021 with Hope! 2020 is a year we all wanted to see in the rear view mirror, however there was still much to be thankful for! Some of the brightest memories for our farm came from our drive through #safarmi tours. The positivity, kindness and humanity of our visitors shone through many times. There was one notable ‘pay it forward’ chain that lasted 2.5 days in our peak spring season! We thank you all for your support and wish everyone a better 2021!! See you in the Spring

Introducing our newest addition ‘Trent’! He is a young breeding buck that will be the new guy in town for our does. Don’t worry Mao, you can enjoy retirement now! Trent is part Nigerian Dwarf and part Fainting Goat. We purchased him from @hazelmere_pumpkin_patch in South Surrey. Baa baa black Sheep! Rosebud gave birth to a single black lamb last weekend. Both are doing fabulous! Check out the little tail wag as he goes in to nurse Our Safarmi visitors will remember her and the dad Ken from one of the wagons at the entrance all summer. We’ve added a new critter to our afternoon walks. Mao the Billy goat and Gourd the mini horse are figuring out who is boss! By the end of the first week Mao was the dominant guy. He is great around us, very aware of his horns and never touches us with them even though he walks millimeters behind us

Salmon type? We have always had a few salmon come up this ditch at the edge of our property in November. It’s great to see them return every year!! ‘Giggle’ is doing awesome! This little girl was laid on by her momma ‘Glitter’ after birth and was in rough shape. In 5 days she went from being tube fed, unable to get up or even sit up properly, to this! Up and standing with no help anymore and hoovering down her breakfast!

All in a days work!! We found two of these small beauties (not live) in a load of alfalfa hay purchased from the interior. We believe they are young rattlesnakes which are born live without rattles. One of our fun winter jobs is to add/replace a few new trees. These two bright fall foliage trees from @cedarrim will grace the goat park giving them some summer shade eventually! We also picked up an apple and plum for the orchard Now to get digging! #happyfall #lovethisfarm

Our animals need to get inside and enjoy the warm dry barn as the weather deteriorates. We will re-open in the new year as spring weather starts to arrive.... We hope to return with our conventional programs in the new year so you can walk through the barn and get a real feel for the animals and how we do things.
