Welcome to Week 5 of Prince Picasso! This week your baby will be exploring coloured spaghetti with homemade paint! To begin, gather/make all required art material. Next, find a safe place to sit your baby to complete the activity. A garbage bag spread out and taped on the floor may work (and will help contain the mess too). Third, let the art/sensory experience begin! Babies will get messy, and that is ok! Baby’s use their senses to explore and discover new things. If you hav...e registered please remember to send us a message with your baby’s photo. Once your baby is finished (they may fuss or become uninterested in the material), remove them from the area and bathe them clean. Lastly, before cleaning up of the art area, take a blank piece of paper and make a print of their artwork on the floor by pressing the paper overtop of their ‘mess’. See more

*Congratulations to Kira Lyn on winning our National Child's Day draw! Please send us a private message to claim your prize! This draw is in honour of National ...Child’s Day! National Child Day is celebrated on November 20th each year. National Child Day has been celebrated across Canada since 1993 to commemorate the United Nations' adoption of two documents centered on children's rights: the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1959, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1989. By ratifying the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1991, Canada made a commitment to ensure that all children are treated with dignity and respect. This commitment includes the opportunity for children to have a voice, be protected from harm and be provided with their basic needs and every opportunity to reach their full potential. Celebrating National Child Day is about celebrating children as active participants in their own lives and in communities, as active citizens who can and should meaningfully contribute to decision-making. For your chance to win all you have to do is.... 1) Like our home page. 2) Like and share this post. 3) Tag a friend or family member who would like this basket. Draw will take place on November 20 at 2:00pm.

Thankful Jar To use the thankful jar, family members record things they are thankful for onto a slip of paper and drop it into the jar. Over time the jar will start to fill up. You can decide how long you would like to do this for. It could be a week, a month, or a whole year! Make it a special time for your family to talk about and realize all they have to be thankful for. Materials... 1 jar Paint Markers Glue Small pieces of paper Pen, marker 1. Decide how long a time period you will be doing your Thankful Jar for and how often you will be putting slips of paper into the jar. 2. If you want to decorate your jar with your children, then do that now. You can use markers, paint, collage tissue paper on it to make it look however your family would like. Once complete, place your jar somewhere visible. 3. At the time decided in your week, come together as a family to individually write on the slips of paper and then post them into the jar. If you have younger children, talk about what they have done this week to remind them, the little things as well as the big. It might be easier to do one every day with them and then at the end of the week pick their favourite one. Great activity to incorporate into a bedtime routine! 4. At the end of your decided Thankful Jar time, pour them all out and read them.
