E m o t i o n s - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Emotions are the entertainment of life. ... I call these emotions, magic moments. We all have magic moments, and it’s OK to feel. We have ups and we have downs, and the most important thing is that we feel, because that means we are human and REAL. When our kids have tantrums, when our kids are loud, I’ve observed that the first thing we want to do is tell our child to stop it, that’s enough, to go be alone, or get yelled at...or worse.. Let’s let these kids be present in the moment of their feelings. It’s how they learn later in life to be able to handle stress, anxiety, obstacles, defeat, loss, hurt and pain. So they can feel and move forward with ease. Giving them the tools needed to self soothe is our role as guides and mentors and coaches. Children feel emotions in an outward way is totally normal, and very ok. As a parent, it’s our job to just be present and let them know you’re there for them, give them a hug, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on. Give them some guidance on how to calm themselves down. I t’ s g o i n g t o b e o k a y . . . B r e a t h e . . . I ‘ m h e r e . . . 1 2 3 4 5. . . The emotions that your kids feel now is young children, are the same exact feelings they’re going to feel when they’re older, when they’re teenagers and when they’re adults. Giving them the guidance and words of wisdom now on how to handle these feelings, will be the words that they here in the back of their minds when they again feel the same magic moments when they’re older, and it will be your words they hear that will help them get through. I’m here for you always (follow @momflailspodcast for more)

D O Y O U R B E S T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I always share with my kids to give their all, and do their best. The important point is that they know their truth as they’ll know whether they did their best or not. That they make themselves proud is what matters. That that all that matters. ... As long as you’re doing your best, that’s all you can do.

This is one of my favourite classic words of wisdom that has been shared for centuries. Sometimes, it’s easier for everyone to walk away. Words hurt...be mindful of your words towards your kids, and yourself because words cut deeper than a knife. They leave a lasting scar forever. A knife can be pulled out whereas words leave an imprint so deep they get embedded into our soul and psyche. It’s only with sheer will, a strong mindset and own power that we can shake the hurt. Be mindful of your kids and their innocent minds...they take everything literally. Laura

It’s so true. We are always in the process or working on There’s no try. Try is a gray area that means nothing- it means you are not doing. You’re either making your bed or not making your bed, you’re either picking up the fork or you’re not picking up of fork, you’re either eating healthy or you’re not eating healthy. There’s no trying - we’re either doing or we’re not doing. Hold yourself accountable and make yourself proud Discipline is a beautiful thing when you’re honest with yourself about commitment and truth. Laura
