MEET THE STAFF - ASHLEY What makes a ‘good day’ at school? Fun, learning something new and/or improved on a skill (either one in need or cultivating a strong one)... What inspires you? Family, desire to learn and understand things, finding happiness. Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by? Find the joy in the little things. What Pets do you have or wish you had? Names? I currently have a cat Ginger, a horse Dara that lives at my aunts and I used to have a Dog named Bear and hope to have a dog again. Favourite Disney movie? I like most of them as I loved Disney but 101 Dalmatians (original/cartoon). Starbucks or Tim’s? Tim’s. Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about? I am learning to knit overall those that know me, know my skills but I do want to learn to dance (hoping to take classes after COVID!) What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job? Love of children, my own curiosity, passion for the work, interest in the growth of children and how we affect them as adults, I am not afraid to get dirty and be right there on the floor playing games, love being outside for all types of learning, I think helping educate children allows me to be a lifelong learner as well. What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working? Reading or spending time with my family. What are some causes you care about? SPCA and overall animal welfare, mental health facilities (mental health and addictions particularly in youths). What do you do in your spare time? Read, learning to knit, spend time with family/boyfriend/his family at their farm/all the animals our families have, walk/hike, swim, watch Netflix, cook, clean my house, colour, do yoga. What would be your personal motto? Be open to new and other ideas, be honest to those around you and yourself, be true to who you are, be kind and loyal and look for the joy in life; keys to finding true happiness.

But my favourite is the sweet little moments we get to share with each child. Such as reading a book together or listening to them tell a story about something special that happened.... What inspires you? Children! They are so innocent and always look for the good in every situation. Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by? It is what it is. I try to take everything in stride. What Pets do you have or wish you had?Names? We have a miniature pincher named Dexter and new puppy Bauer Favourite Disney movie? I love them all. But I’ll say little mermaid. Starbucks or Tim’s? Tim’s! Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about? I love hockey. I have played hockey my whole life. What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job? My love and patience for children. What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working? I’m happiest when I’m watching my son and daughter doing the sports they love. Irish dance and hockey. What are some causes you care about? I try to spread awareness for some causes close to my heart. Epilepsy awareness and a Very rare chronic condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE). What do you do in your spare time? What is spare time? Haha If I have alone time I Love to run!
