Checkout this amazing piece of art by East Peak team member @tabycatkid This is a rubbing of Jipugtug - a 5.6 route at local climbing area Chebucto Head. Tabatha estimates at least 40 hours of work went into this project and at least 4 of which were spent hanging in a rope on the route rubbing the impression of the rock onto a sheet with a litho crayon.... We are blown away with how creative and talented Tabatha is and are so excited to have this piece on display in the gym! Pictures simply do not do this piece justice- come check it out for yourself!

Tonight as I add the finishing touches making sure everything is just right in preparation to open our doors tomorrow I am overwhelmed with how thankful I am . Thankful that we get to share the last weeks of 2020 with our amazing community . Thankful that we survived 2020 despite the odds seeming to be against us... . Thankful for family and friends who have shown up and supported us in more ways than we could count, often putting their own lives and priorities on hold to assist with whatever was needed . Thankful for the East Peak team who have grown to be more like family than co-workers, who have accepted decisions and changes that needed to be made with grace and understanding . Thankful for our members who have adapted to changes and still come through the door with smiles on their faces, who have reached out with the kindest and most supportive messages and who continue to support us despite the roller coaster 2020 has been . Thankful for every single person who has come through our doors, shopped online, liked, commented, shared, wrote google reviews and kept us a float. . Christmas came early at East Peak- we can’t wait to see you See more

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ --- Earlier today NS Public Health alerted us of a potential Covid-19 exposure at East Peak on Saturday, November 21st, between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Public health is requesting that anyone who was in the facility between 1:00pm and 5:00pm get tested. --- If you were at our facility during this time frame you could develop symptoms up to December 5th. If you have any questions about testing protocols please contact NS Public Health for further direction.... --- Our check-in /check-out system has made it possible for us to quickly identify who was in the facility during the potential time of exposure and we will be contacting these individuals directly as well. All staff who were working that day have been notified and are being tested. --- Although many of our customers visit our facility frequently Public Health has confirmed the time outlined above is the only potential exposure at East Peak at this time. -- Please feel free to contact [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. To all members of the East Peak Climbing community, As of tonight at 10pm we will be closing our doors until further notice. We are absolutely heartbroken to be closing our doors again. There are no words to describe how much we have enjoyed the small sense of normal we have gotten to experience over that last few months. We are truly thankful for every single person who has come through our doors and supported us as we t...ried to be a brand new baby business in the midst of a global pandemic. As hard as it is we believe Public Health has made the right decision for the safety of our community and that we all need to make sacrifices to get our economy back to normal as soon as possible. Youth and adult programs that have already started will resume when it is safe to do so. Any deposits paid for courses will be credited to your account for future use. Members (including those in intro memberships) will receive an e-mail from us tomorrow with a link to our member change form outlining their options for the closure period. Gift cards and punch passes are currently available through our website for any Christmas shopping needs! We will be posting times for retail shopping and Adsum house donation drop offs in the coming days. We will keep you posted on what your climbing sessions may look like moving forward as we receive updates over the coming days & weeks . We can’t wait to have you back on the wall as soon as possible , please stay the blazes home so that it won’t be too long! We love you all so much and will miss seeing your smiling faces every day. We are all exhausted by the pandemic, but we are not all struggling to find a place to sleep each night.
