I just had to try a Freak Shake before the end of summer. Cherry on Top, you outdid yourself. The toasted homemade marshmallow really was "the cherry ontop".

Its looking like a lovely Sunday morning! A liitle overcast, a nice cool breeze, what a great day for a drive. Yesterday we had some vintage car enthusiasts vi...sit East Point with their beautful rides, and I caught a quick picture of some of them while they visited. Caught up with Sabina and her posse, it was nice to connect. How about you? What are YOU doing today? My trip to the East Point Lighthouse from yesterday. Its the most eastern point in PEI. I just heard an interview with Maxine Maclennan on CBC about her new album and remembered this video that she made at East Point years ago. She is going to drop off copies of the new CD this weekend. Cant wait, she has such a wonderful voice.

Yesterday, even on a dreary day, the East Point Lighthouse still has a lot to offer, perhaps even more so than on a sunny day. The dark cool weather cast new sh...adows inside the Lighthouse, and the staff started swapping ghost stories. You could almost convince yourself that perhaps up on that second floor, with the old signatures on the wall and that odd door, moving a little in that drafty place, perhaps an old spirit was hanging around. If the lights had flickered at just the right time........zoom! Wed be gone! I took a few pictures focussing on the unique architecture inside the Lighthouse, some ups and downs, it lends itself very well to photo ops. And what a day on the surf! You can see the ferry huffing across the Strait, but couldnt you just imagine an old schooner running rum? Or a barque loaded with spices and fabrics and dishes, exchanging their cargo for salt fish? We can, the stories were getting pretty tall yesterday! Another dark day today, perfect for a drive and a trip up a charming old lighthouse. Anyone know whose boats these are?

This is why a fog alarm was needed!! Taken this morning by Roberta Palmer. The fog alarm building was built in 1908. The same year as the lighthouse was moved the second time. It originally was a coal fired fog alarm. There was a cistern under the building into hold rain water. The coal would heat the boiler making steam that blew the alarm.
