Happy Friday! In all honesty: Dr Jill’s hand writing is really good. Dr Debbie’s, however, is...
The weather is changing and Spring is coming! Hopefully
A hearing "screening" (ex. simple beep test) can alert you to potential hearing problems. However, an audiological evaluation is a series of diagnostic procedures used to determine the type, degree, & configuration of hearing loss. The goal of an evaluation is to develop a treatment plan that is unique to the patient's needs in order to improve their communication skills. (elements from: sphs osu edu)
Happy Friday everyone!
Tinnitus can be caused by a number of things, including broken or damaged hair cells in the part of the ear that receives sound (cochlea); changes in how blood moves through nearby blood vessels (carotid artery); problems with the joint of the jaw bone (temporomandibular joint); and problems with how the brain processes sound. ...or even a giant plug of wax #TinnitusWeek
After this looong c-c-cold week, it is *definitely* time for the Friday Funny. We thought this was appropriate
Just a reminder of our holiday hours. We are once again following the same hours as the labs - meaning that we will be closed at the same time as they are. All the best this holiday season from all of us here at Eastside Audiology: Debbie, Mitch, Candace, Amanda F., Jadie, Jill, Lindsay, Camila, and Amanda D. Let’s stay safe out there and we’ll see you again in (hopefully a much better) 2021
Well, 2020 is drawing to a close and if you are like most people ... you are not too unhappy about seeing it in the rearview mirror . You made it through sooo many things: a Global Pandemic, Closed Offices, Masks (argh!), bleach stains (eek!), and even (possibly) Murder Hornets! Frankly, you deserve this time with your family. On behalf of our entire team - we just wanted to throw out a quick THANK YOU! because without "you" there is no "us" and for that we are genuinely grateful . Thanks for your continued trust in us and all the best in the New Year. On to 2021! It HAS to be better, right? RIGHT!?! Sincerely, Debbie & Mitch
We don’t know about the rest of you, but with the Saskatchewan Provincial election just finishing up, the Regina civic election next week, and the US election today: we are suffering from a bit of candidate fatigue ...and then we saw this little guy so we figured we’d give him our vote. He seemed the most trustworthy. Stay safe out there everyone!
Public Health has notified Eastside Audiology that a patient that attended the clinic on October 23rd has tested positive for COVID-19. Generally speaking, the SHA estimates an approximately 24-hour turnaround between when a sample is received in the lab and when the person requesting the test receives their results. In the meantime people requesting have been advised to continue isolating until those results are known. This patient did not follow those recommendations an...d attended Eastside Audiology’s Regina clinic on October 23rd at 3:30pm. Out of an abundance of caution and under the direction of Public Health, Dr Davis will be quarantining for 2 weeks due to her direct contact with this COVID positive patient Cleaning protocols and safety measures were reviewed with Public Health and it was determined that Eastside Audiology correctly followed all SHA protocols. A deep clean of the two areas this patient attended has already been completed, and Eastside Audiology has been cleared for business PS: we will be contacting upcoming appointments to reschedule those impacted by this. If you have any questions or concerns please call our office - but know this: we are just as frustrated with this as you are, and we are anxiously awaiting a time when these kinds of announcements are a thing of the past. PS #2: for those that have asked about Debbie know that she is doing fine. She’s feeling great and is more upset about not being able to do the things she loves - which is helping her patients Stay safe everyone Mitch
If your ears are exhausted from doing all the heavy lifting - we have those ear savers to get those masks off your ears (locally made by Sincerely Stitched) Thanks to Jadie, one of our audiologists, for being our ear saver model

Hearing Aids. Diagnostics. Auditory Processing. Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. Hearing Aid Repairs. Custom Ear Molds. Swim Plugs. Musician Plugs. Basically, if it is related to your hearing health - we can help
We've all been guilty of it. It is the mindset that we have of stereotyping people with hearing loss & hearing aids. Eastside Audiology is all about changing perceptions and challenging your line of thinking. What type of person gets their hearing checked? The same person that gets their eyes & teeth checked regularly. The person that is conscious of their health in all aspects
