So finally it was the first day of Spring 2021. A beautiful sunny day. As any other weekend, my daughter no. 2 wanted me to make some pancakes for breakfast. My eldest suggested that I allow them to do most of the prep and also that she wants to try chocolate pancakes today. For a change, I agreed . I was pleasantly surprised when they pulled out all ingredients, measured and prepared a perfect mixture. We added cocoa powder for chocolate pancakes. We usually have it with ...berries. I saw some bananas on the counter and thought that these chocolate pancakes would taste great with bananas almost like a banana bread and to my surprise, the girls instantly approved the idea. The choco banana pancakes tasted amazing and I must say you must try it if you want a quicker version of choco banana bread! An amazing start of the day and a memorable one! Mutton Karahi with Sheermal! A famous combo from a Pakistani Wedding! Sheermal is a type of sweet flat bread. It’s yummy. Try this when you are missing Pakistani shadi food :) Recipe: Mutton 1/2 kg... 3 tomatoes 2 tbsp chopped onion 1/2 cup oil 1 tbsp tomato paste Red chilli powder 1 tsp Chilli flakes 1/2 tsp Turmeric 1/4 tsp Roasted crushed cumin 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp Garam masala 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp Kasuri maythee 1/2 tsp crushed Salt to taste Chopped green chillies and ginger Take oil in a pan and fry till onions till light brown. Add ginger garlic and fry for few mins. Add mutton and fry till all water dries off. Add all spices except black pepper, kasuri maythi and garam masala. Fry. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Fry well again. Add enough water and cook till meat is tender. I pressure cooked it for 21 mins in Instapot. Lastly add remaining spices, chillies, ginger and cook for 2 mins till oil floats on top. Serve with naan, sheermal or rice.
