Cupping is great for releasing muscle tension and fascial restriction. But, did you know it is also very useful in treating allergies, asthma, eczema and even digestive issues? In Chinese Medicine, the Lung and Large Intestine (LI), and the skin have a very close relationship. When you see skin issues (ie. eczema, rashes, hay fever, etc.) you look to the Lung or LI. Just as when you see Lung or LI issues (asthma, cough, shortness of breath, shallow breathing, constipatio...n), you consider the skin. Cupping stimulates the Qi at the skin level (Wei Qi), to resolve skin issues as well as Lung issues. The negative pressure of the cups will also increase the movement of Qi and blood and help get things moving that may have been stuck. The side effect of all of this is a very calming reaction to the nervous system. So great for stress and anxiety too! #acupuncture #acupuncturist #tcm #chinesemedicine #cupping #cuppingtherapy #firecupping #traditionalmedicine #holistichealth #stressrelief #skincare #digestivehealth by @janebrokenshire

The Wood Element in Chinese Medicine. In Five Element philosophy, Wood is the element/energetic that we are experiencing right now. Some correspondences of Wood are: Springtime, movement, change, wind, anger, frustration, forward movement, planning, green, the liver and gallbladder organs... Look to nature, look at what’s going on in the world right now. Look at your own inner world... This energy is so strong right now! I used to think that anger was an emotion to sup...press, or to work through on my own and keep hidden. That it was a bad emotion. But, it is so important! It is the catalyst to change! Without anger there wouldn’t be revolution, challenging old systems that no longer work, standing up against injustices. We need to be angry to push for CHANGE. This season is highlighting this energy. What we have been doing as a species is wrong, and it hasn’t been working for a very long time. Enough is enough! We can do BETTER! We need to be BETTER! Embrace this wood energy. Accept your anger and frustrations. Use the emotions to create a positive change, let it move through you, take action and transform! #tcm #wood #fiveelements #5e #anger #change #chinesemedicine #acupuncture #acupuncturist See more
