Hello! I just want to send some inspiration/tips to all of you because 3 years back we landed to Winnipeg and started with nothing. November last year we finall...y moved in to our first home and i know anyone can achieve this. 1) Take care of your credit. Remember that all trades such as credit cards, phone bills, any financing we take are being tracked and reported to our credit Bureau. If you just arrived here make sure to open 1-2 credit cards to start building your credit. Try to NOT spend morethan 50% of your credit limit. Please pay bills on time, never late. There could be tough times so you dont have to pay in full just don't miss a payment. 2) Its not bad but AVOID big purchases first such as a brand new car. We all need a car but it lowers down your max amount for a house. Try avoiding large loans or debt consolidation and consumer proposal 3) Secure a permanent job. Banks and Mortgage lenders require only 3 months of permanent regular job. If you are self employed they want at least 2 years. 5% down payment , 5% we can apply for First-Time-Home -Buyers-Incentive. 4) Keep praying and focus on your goals. I am now a morgage specialist and have helped a couple new comers in purchasing their own home! I think its the best time to do it because mortgage rates are so low!
