THIS is just one of the many things that have been keeping me up at night. You see, the Magic Emporium was the realization of a lifelong dream. I always wanted to be able to support the artistic community and I loved watching every play, magic show and dance recital that came through its doors. It devastated me to have to cancel events and shutter the theatre as the coronavirus began to spread, and I eagerly looked forward to day we would re-open. But, even if the upcoming... relaunch is successful (and I truly hope it is), when will it be safe enough for people to gather at concerts, plays, magic shows or even birthday parties? As a responsible member of our community, I would never put people's lives at risk but, realistically, there is almost no ability to maintain social distancing in an intimate venue such as the Magic Emporium. So, for now, the ghost light continues to burn as I anxiously wait to see what the future brings. Until then Keep safe and stay healthy.

Great video shoot today at the Magic Emporium as an elementary school teacher taught different strategies to "carry the one". From baffling the sound to creating the perfect wash of lighting, we made everything work seamlessly. And yes, even though it's technically spring break, this is what many great teachers are doing throughout Alberta. Because our kids are worth it!

The Magic Emporium is pleased to announce that we have volunteered our space to a local elementary teacher, so she can create video lessons to be made available to her students. The venue is perfect for this, since it's now isolated from all other activity and it has all of the audio-visual equipment needed to facilitate the filming and production of the various lesson plans. Our teachers are heroes, and our kids are worth it. On behalf of all of us at the Magic Emporium, we wish you all the best. Stay healthy and safe.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic and, in support of the effort to flatten the curve, I have had to make the difficult decision to cancel all of my shows, both off-site and at the Magic Emporium for the next 60 days.
