#StudyandStay #newbrunswick See more

Rakesh Menapati knows the power of mentorship through the Atlantic Canada Study and Stay - Nova Scotia program. Rakesh says, this program introduced me to one of the most amazing guys, my mentor. With the help of my mentor, I was able to acquire a job in Nova Scotia. Rakesh believes that coming from India to Canada, "having support from my mentor is a blessing. My mentor is still here for me in every aspect of my career; when I had three job offers and was confused about w...hich one to take, he suggested which is the best for my career. I have a great relationship with my mentor. He is my biggest inspiration. He is my Canadian ‘Dad’. Rakesh works as a Quality Control Lab Technician at Jost Vineyards and believes in giving back. He has volunteered as a fire fighter, at food banks, and at Shannex. Rakesh continues to live in Truro, where he says, I love the people here - they are amazing and always helpful to each other. Rakesh thinks about becoming an entrepreneur in the future and helping farmers in India with his agricultural experience. His advice to international students is to always believe in yourself, meet new people, and network. Your connections will help you to achieve your goals. #studyandstay #novascotia

Andaylia Gay first arrived in Prince Edward Island (PEI) in 2015 to visit a friend and fell in love with the landscape and beaches. Three years later, in 2018, Andaylia returned to PEI from Trinidad and Tobago to complete a diploma in Accounting Technology at Holland College. During her final year of studies, she applied to the Atlantic Canada Study and Stay PEI program after deciding to make PEI a permanent home because, during the summer months, the island is nothing s...hort of amazing and everyone comes alive. The people here are generally friendlier, and it’s a great place to raise a family. The program assisted Andaylia with her goal of remaining on the island, providing her with the knowledge needed for employment opportunities, various networking opportunities, living in rural PEI, resume improvement, and developing soft skills. She describes how the program helped her, and other international students cope during the COVID-19 pandemic by adjusting to the ‘new normal’ and introducing skills for video interviews. She discovered the importance of networking and building human connections. Since completing the program, Andaylia has been working as a Billing Analyst with ScreenScape Networks Inc., as she continues to make PEI ‘home.’ #studyandstay #PEI
