New Update: Kitchener arenas can now have 10 skaters max and 2 coaches max as of this morning. 1 parent per skater is allowed to watch, but not at Grand River (sorry Tuesday group) . As such we have 1 opening today in our 4:30 session (2010 - 2004 Rep) at Kiwanis, and 1 opening in our 5:45 session (2013 - 2007 Rep) at Kiwanis. We are focusing on GAME SCENARIO SKILLS, GAME SCENARIO SKATING, GAME SCENARIO CONDITIONING so our players are ready for games!! Anyone can put a bunch of paraphernalia on the ice and have them skate around it. WE TEACH!!! Shooting, passing, pivots, edgework, game scenarios, hockey sense!!! We spilt the kids on the ice according to abilities. We are focusing on game specific drills that incorporate passing, shooting in stride, game specific edging and transitions, conditioning, ALL AT GAME SPEED!!! Hello Evolution Hockey friends and customers! We have been back doing small group skills and skating sessions for the past 2 weeks. We do have some availability in some "All Levels, All Ages", "2006 - 2000 Rep", and our "2012 - 2007 Rep" sessions. GO TO "PROGRAMS" ON THE SITE. ... Our sessions over the past 2 weeks and upcoming will be run by an ex OHL Coach and Player, a Hockey Canada High Performance Level 1 Coach, and an ex OHL and CIS Player. Not a bad lineup for instructors!!! Our team is spending a lot more time teaching than simply running the kids through drills. We also find time for games and fun. Hello All!! Everyone is still trying to figure what kids sports will look like. I think we are on the right path by being cautious. Even though our small business has been shut down for over 4 months, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Patience pays off!!!!!... We have some new times on our website for small groups. We will be adding more and following all COVID guidelines set out by Public Health, Hockey Canada and all levels of Government. Stay safe!! See you soon!!

UPDATE: Hello Evolution Hockey friends and customers. We have another update for you that requires some explanation. We were recently told that we could not go on the ice without being Hockey Canada Certified Skills Coaches (25 in Canada) or part of a coaching staff with a Hockey Canada affiliated team. ... On Friday we were now told that WE CAN GO ON THE ICE. In between these 2 communications from the City of Kitchener they sold off all of our icetimes for July and August to other groups. We had these times booked in January for our weekly sessions and our PREP FOR REP CAMP. Unfortunately all of our sessions and camps on our site are cancelled for July and August as the city sold all of our times under contract last week. Needless to say this is a very difficult situation for a small business that has been shut down for almost 5 months. More importantly it is a difficult situation for our customers. We will be getting new icetimes in August and running skills sessions. 10 people in total are allowed on the ice including instructors. We plan to have 1 skills instructor and 9 players. We have been told the players are not to use dressing rooms and that no spectators will be allowed. Players cant engage in contact or games against eachother. Skills only and distancing on the ice. We are hoping to have multiple ice sessions every week in age specific groups. We have to get more insurance to be allowed on the ice- this is being worked on now. OUR NEW SESSIONS SHOULD BE ON OUR SITE NEXT WEEK - PLEASE CHECK THE SITE AS ALL SESSIONS WILL BE CAPPED AT 9 SKATERS. I will send an update when we have ice for you. Our skill sessions will be very game specific drills to keep the kids sharp for when game play resumes. We will be issuing credits for all of our March - August 31 ice that has been paid for. UPDATE We hope that all of our customers and friends are doing well. We very recently received some information regarding minor hockey in the near future. The information is about decisions that Hockey Canada has made along with our Government. Here is what we have been told: On July 15th hockey will open for groups of 10 on the ice (includes coaches and goalies). The on ice sessions are to be development only and are not to include any scrimmages or contact.... The people conducting the instruction have to be either A: A Hockey Canada Certified Skills Coach. (There are 25ish in Canada currently) Or B: A coach of a minor hockey team that falls under Hockey Canada's umbrella. (Alliance, OMHA, GTHL etc) Evolution Hockey Training and similar companies have been advised that they will not be a part of the July 15th reopening. We have also been told that things can change at any moment due to changes in circumstances. As such our programs are cancelled for the month of July. We hope to be on the ice in August but wont likely know for at least a couple weeks. For those of you that have paid for cancelled sessions we will be issuing refunds for all sessions up until July 31. Please email [email protected] and quote your order # if possible. We will not be issuing refunds for any August Sessions or programs until we get some clarity on when we are permitted on the ice. We will always provide refunds for sessions cancelled due to COVID. It is not a great news for us but I understand and respect the decisions made. The reopening of hockey has to be done slowly and with some control to keep as many people safe as possible. That IS the most important thing here. We hope to see everyone soon. Please be patient with our response to questions and refunds as you can imagine there are a lot. Stay safe everyone. The question has come up a few times about when tryouts will begin. Here is a quote from Kitchener Minor Hockey's website link to FAQ Alliance Hockey: Q:" Is there a rough idea as to when tryouts MIGHT be happening?" A : "At this time Hockey Canada has suspended all operations until September 1. The earliest possible return based on recent discussions is after Labour Day..."... Please continue to check your local hockey association websites and their Hockey Canada Member sites. (Alliance, OMHA, ETC...) Hope this helps!!

Hello Evolution Hockey Customers and Friends!!! Our team certainly hopes that everyone is well and that you and your loved ones are staying safe. We wanted to communicate some facts about what we know so far as well as some updates on our programs, camps, sessions, and some new and exciting news: The region has announced that all public arenas will be closed until at least the end of June. We will let you know when there are updates available.... Hockey Canada (Governing body for OMHA and Alliance) has announced that tryouts are not to begin until after Labour Day. (please verify with you local association before making holiday plans!!) Because of these announcements here is the status of our current and upcoming programs: "All Levels Complete Player Sessions" and "Advanced Complete Player Sessions" - May and June Sessions are cancelled. July and August Sessions will remain open until further notice. July "Summer Tune Up" Camp is cancelled as it is in early July and we want to give fair notice due to the uncertainty surrounding arenas and safety. "Elite Edgework Sessions" are all cancelled as the sessions were to be a progression and most are in May and June - the July sessions are also cancelled. ****Please note I can be reached at [email protected] for refunds and credits to future sessions**** August "Prep for Rep" Camp is still open for registration - we will give you updates as we know more. We plan on running this camp. (depending on Public Health recommendations). Please understand that we would love to get back to the rink with the kids but we have to be responsible to our customers by doing this safely. We will be taking proper safety measures as set out by Public Health as well as Hockey Canada when we do reopen. HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS!!! We are taking this downtime to become better at what we do. We are hiring some great young instructors that have played at high levels and have very charismatic personalities - THE KIDS WILL LOVE THESE GUYS!!! At our camps and sessions last year we had 1 ex OHL Coach and player, 2 ex OHL Players, 3 ex Jr. A and Jr. B, and CIS players on the ice. Now we are adding some great young guys. We are studying the new ways of training in North America, Russia , Europe from the top skating and skills instructors in the WORLD!! Thanks to all of our friends and customers for supporting us.
