What are some things you have done to prepare for rough patches in your life? What would your life look like if you weren't able to work for the next six months? Or what if your furnace were to break down in the middle of this winter? If 2020 has taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected. That's why I always have discussions about adding an emergency fund as part of my clients' portfolio. And I don't mean just leaving money under the mattress for a rainy day. ... I like to find unique ways to help my clients grow their emergency fund while keeping it accessible in case they ever need it. If you'd like to discuss ideas about the proper dollar amount to set aside for emergencies or ways to get growth out of your emergency fund, send me a message or give me a call at 306-460-4419.

Some pretty concerning news in Saskatchewan today. Zoom and Webex meetings are ideal, but our office is still open with a mandatory masking policy. The virus exposed some weaknesses in our ability to stop the spread of viruses, so we took steps to protect ourselves. We know that masks, frequent hand washing, and social distancing help slow the spread of the virus and protect our physical health.... The pandemic has also caused some issues with people's financial health. Is there anything you have done to improve your long term financial health over the past year? https://www.cbc.ca//saskatchewan-covid-19-update-modelling

This magazine was printed at the end of March (a lifetime ago.) When the market went south in February and March, I was constantly on the phone and doorstep with prospective clients. "Let's talk about this after we get out of this COVID mess," was a response I heard countless times.... The S&P 500 has rallied ~38% from the time this magazine was printed. If you're still waiting for the right moment to get invested, send me a message. I firmly believe that time in the market is significantly more important than trying to time the market, and this is a perfect example. Even though the market has rallied, there's still tons of opportunities in front of us! Contact me TODAY!

Many people have been coming to me with questions about investing during the US Presidential Election. What will happen if Trump wins versus a Biden victory? Should I wait until after the election to start investing? How are my financial goals going to be impacted? As a financial advisor who also has a degree in Political Science, I am uniquely qualified to have these discussions with you. If you have any thoughts or are seeking clarity on this topic, feel free to send me a message or call me at 306-460-4419. I look forward to many more of these conversations over the next two weeks!

Have you ever heard of Dollar Cost Averaging? I like to use gas prices as an example to explain dollar cost averaging to clients. Gas prices are always going up and down. Pretend you decided to just put $40 of gas in your car every Monday. You don't worry about filling it up to the top, and you don't try to predict when gas prices are going lower. ... If you do this, you're automatically going to add less gas when prices are high, and add more gas when prices are low. That's the idea behind Dollar Cost Averaging. Say you put $100 towards the same stock on the same day every month. If the price drops, you get to buy more for the same dollar amount. If the price is high, you buy less. On top of this, it helps keep you disciplined and prevents you from making the mistake of trying to time the market and letting your emotions get the best of you. This is just one long-term strategy I offer to many of my clients who are looking to accomplish their personal goals and I'd like to offer this service to you! Please send me a DM or call me if you'd be interested in learning more. Comment below if this was helpful to you at all!
