Hi folks! Critters are trying to get inside to keep warm over the winter and have their babies in the spring. If you're hearing a noise here and there, it's important to deal with it now before Spring. There'll be a whole lot more noise, damage, cost and of course young ones to deal with in the spring if you don't deal with it now. If you suspect you have something going on, we can confirm or rule it out with an inspection. And remember, mice are coming in now as well They ca...n also make a lot of noise and make you think there's something bigger up there then what there really is. Mice chew wires, tunnel through insulation and scale down the wall voids to enter the living space through plumbing and cable holes in the walls. Most importantly, if you have a mouse infestation, there's never just one. You do not have "a" mouse. You have "mice" and lots of them. A snap trap under the kitchen sink won't do the trick. The longer you let it go, the more mice you will have. We're your pest control solution. Let us take care of it for you. See more

On behalf of Elgin Pest Control Daryl and Monica Gratton would like to wish you a happy Thanksgiving weekend!
This weeks video is on bedbugs. Part 1
This weeks video is from a call from a home owner who was having insulation blown into a crawl space. The job came to a halt because of citronella ants. There ended up being a couple nests in the area where they were working.
We're getting a lot of calls for skunks right now. Check around your sheds and decks and make sure all possible points of entry are closed off.

I know you may have only seen one but trust me...if you've seen one, there's more. You'll need your attic baited and bait stations placed in strategic areas throughout your home. In extreme infestations, glue boards or snap traps may have to be used before baiting to lower the population as you don't want your home filled with stinky dead mice.
