With all the negative news lately we just wanted to wish everyone a Happy First Day of Spring!

Elmsdale Automotive will remain open during the Covid-19 pandemic until instructed otherwise by the Health Authorities. We are taking pro-cautions in your vehicles with fresh gloves and seat covers every appointment, as well as frequent hand washing. We ask that all our clients cooperate with us through this by:... -Rescheduling appointments if you do not feel well or have been outside of the country, make arrangements to pick your vehicle up if you have a vehicle with us already and are returning to the area. -Try to arrange to drop your vehicle off with us rather than waiting with us. Working together we can curb the effects of this virus and hopefully return to normal sooner than later.

Vehicle computer programming is becoming more common on todays vehicles. Car makers are making updates for common issues daily, and just like a cell phone they need to be updated. Here we had to reprogram the air bag module on a newer Ford SUV after an accident, however there were multiple updates available as well to fix bugs in the vehicles software that we did at the same time.

The vehicles on the road today are getting more and more complicated. We got to attend some very informative training last night covering Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These systems cover the lane departure, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors, parking assist and more, that are on most new vehicles today. This will be a short week for us at Elmsdale Auto. The shop will be closed Friday, April 19th as well as Saturday & Sunday April 20th & 21st as usual. We will be open again on Monday April 22nd.

We changed these very worn out spark plugs in a customer's van recently. Take a look at the holes burnt in the ground electrode on the bottom compared to the new part. Unbelievably it was still running!
