On Sept 3, 2020 Air Canada partnered with McMaster Health Labs and the Greater Toronto Airport Authority for a Covid-19 rapid testing program of arriving passengers at Toronto Pearson Airport. 16,000 volunteered for the test, and less that 1% were positive. On Oct 22, 2020 Alberta and the federal government announce rapid testing trials in Calgary Airport. These trials were subsequently expanded to Vancouver and Montreal, with a recent announc...ement to include Toronto. All airlines rejected that option outright. Dec 7, 2020 Air Canada offered passengers a pre-departure covid test in Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto Dec 30, 2020 the federal government announced a new pre-departure negative test requirement to return to Canada, and that all arriving passengers must complete the full 14 day quarantine. Transport Minister Marc Garneau added that they may still "look at" the rapid testing trials in airports The airline industry responded to this move, saying it had been "blindsided" by the government. There were no discussions, warnings, nor request for input, simply another new law being bulldozed by the inept and unethical Trudeau. I watched a CTV interview with Garneau last night, and I can't find the link anywhere to share it. In this interview, Garneau was simply a talking head, his responses were vague and confusing, and you could almost see the strings being maneuvered by the hidden Puppet Master himself. To me it appears that Trudeau, feeling scorned and humiliated by the airlines, enacted this order out of spite. All the testing results from the pilot projects showed that air travel is not the cause, but a spoiled, spurned diva decided to take his toys and go home. This is simply an attempt to deflect attention away from their disastrous handling of this pandemic. If there is such a thing as karma and reincarnation, the entire Liberal government will return as an airport tarmac, to spend eternity being rolled on by Canadian air carriers.... See more
