Here is a progress picture of our weekend job/order!! 9.5ft custom built in floating shelves to fit an empty space in a client's closet! A bit of sanding and staining left to do, but we think they're turing out pretty nice! ... HUGE thank you to @tialaidlaw for helping us out big time with the installation!! Today we wore #purpleforemily . This is our 5th Purple Day since losing someone very special to us to Epilepsy. Emily was the BEST person. She was so thoughtful and was there for you in a heartbeat whenever you needed her. She was beautiful inside and out, and always stayed true to herself (even if it meant wearing socks and sandals most days). She was HILARIOUS and could make anyone laugh til it hurt. And she was SO creative. Anytime I had something fun to make that... involved creativity; she was the one I would call and she would never disappoint. Emily was always a big advocate for Epilepsy Awareness, and often spread information and insights about how the disorder affected her life personally. So while we use to wear purple WITH her on March 26, we now wear purple FOR her. For those of you that don't know, the name EM-OH Design is inspired by Emily, and a portion of each sale has gone towards Emily's Fund and spreading awareness and keeping the conversation going has been a goal of ours since we started. Emily's Fund is a transportation fund for those living with Epilepsy to help them get around to doctors appointments and other required services. So today, in hopes to spread awareness both of Epilepsy and Emily's Fund, we have switched it up a bit from our regular woodworking projects and made purple shirts to honour Emily and Purple Day/Epilepsy Awareness Day.
