Busy week at Sunrise Heirloom Vegetables. On Saturday we transplanted 100 tomatoes into 4 pots. Sunday we transplanted 40 more tomatoes into 4 pots. Also we g...rafted tomatoes. Very tense. We had planted root stock and heirloom tomato seeds earlier. Each plant was 4 high so we cut al plants on the same angle and put the heirloom tomato on top of the root stock stems. They are secured with a small plastic clip and then put in a dark , warm, high humidity environment for a few days. Pauleen calls this the ICU. Hopefully this works. Monday we planted basil. Wednesday we are planting kale , romaine and lettuce. See more

Who knew!!! There is a website that lists local food growers in pretty much the same geographical area as district 11. Check it out. The map is part way down the page. Touch an icon and it provides you details. Hopefully we can get all of our local producers included.

Chick Hatching Hello Everyone, I am just wondering if there are daycare providers, moms or dads interested in hatching baby chicks this season. ... There are many available dates to choose from at this time for our 2021 rental season. It is a great experience for the children, along with getting the opportunity to explore a wonderful educational science adventure. Please message me if interested or have any questions. The Emsdale Agricultural Society board of directors wish to thank everyone for the unique year we’ve had. We can only hope 2021 will be a better year for all of us, we are still working diligently on our fair for 2021 save the date August 28th. Our fair books are now complete we are at the printers. Many thanks to Penny for all of her hard work in getting both junior and senior books ready this year. (October 16, 2020) On Saturday, October 31, stop by and visit the Emsdale Agricultural Society and Emsdale Lions Club outside the Emsdale Community Centre and H...ope’s Clover Farm for their Halloween for Hunger Drive. Grab a treat bag and drop off a non-perishable food item for the local food bank. Public health regulations regarding COVID-19 will be in place.

As per Perry Township the community centres are not available for the next 28 days they will be closed due to the last announcement from the provincial government. Any questions comments or concerns please contact the office.

Due to the new provincial legislation of 10 people indoors and 25 outdoors Emsdale bingo will now be suspended until further notice. BREAKING NEWS: NEW restrictions for all Ontario regions 10 people indoors 25 people outdoors ... Fines will be for organizers $10,000 and people $750 This does not apply to business operations For the next 28 days. Return to school is not an issue. See more

A face covering is mandatory whether it’s buff a shield or a mask, the moment you enter the community centre the face covering must be in place properly and to be worn all night while playing bingo. We have protocols in place based on the government guidelines. Maximum of 50 people in the hall. Face coverings are mandatory.... Please use hand sanitizer when entering the building and exiting the building. No outside food or drink allowed. Snack bar is available for packaged goods. You will be contacted by Darla on behalf of the ag society if there are seats available If you have not been contacted and there are no seats. Doors will open at 6 PM only. For traceability purposes we will be asking for your name, address and telephone number. For the safety of all patrons of the bingo we ask that you not smoke by the front doors that you please use the smoking section provided. For the safety of our volunteers there will be no bins put out at this time all paper will be collected by the runners. A garbage can will be placed in the hall please be respectful and put all garbage other than bingo paper in those garbage bins at the end of the evening.
