THANK YOU to everyone who came out on BC River's Day for our Annual Shuswap River Clean-up. Shout out to Dave Brennon who started 3 hours before the event and picked up garbage on both sides of the bridge and along the River Walk. Honorable mentions to Larry & Frenca Stankoven, Marion & Dominic Fernandez, Chuck and Maggie Wallis, Tammy Simpson and her daughters- Kaitlyn and Alyssa and our City CAO Tate. Winner of our Awesome prize basket was Tammy Simpson!!! Congrats.

The Shuswap River is use at your own risk and discretion, we can not open or close the water way. Our objective is to educate river users and provide them with information to be able to make safe decisions. (Knowledge. Respect. Safety. Planning) The water temperature has cooled off and is approximately 17 degrees. IF YOU ARE GOING ON THE WATER ON AN INFLATABLE PLEASE READ ENTIRELY: Pack out what you pack in! Do not leave garbage or sink cans/bottles... Check float times and launch locations (do not float Enderby to Grindrod) the last public place to get off the river leaving Enderby is Tuey/Waterwheel beach. Do not park on the road or block in other vehicles, if the designated parking area is full please go somewhere else. (many launch sites are full early in the day) Do not fill your inflatables on the road or obstruct traffic Bring life jackets/ PFD's (tickets are issued) Plan your ride, there is no taxi or shuttle service If you have open alcohol on the river you can be fined Do no tie together, if you get caught on a log or sweeper it can be very dangerous Stay off private property, only use public areas Check weather conditions Watch for boats and watercrafts especially swimming Float times: Belvedere to Tuey - 2.5 hours Eby's to Belvedere - 3.5 hours Trinity to Belvedere - 4.5 hours (float times vary on vessel type and weather conditions)

Make sure you know how long you’ll be on the water when floating the Shuswap River. Float times increase as the water levels drop and the flow is slower. It can be deceiving by how long the drive is between enter and exit points compared to float times. Stay up to date and be prepared
