Nous avons reçu un rapport préliminaire sur les tests de filtration bactériennes de nos Masques EC3D ! https://ec3dsports.com/ca_fr/masque-facial-ec3d/ Nous a...vons obtenu une moyenne de 84,4% au test appelé BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency). Notre masque est donc très proche des standards médicaux qui sont de 95% BFE. Bien que nos masques ne sont pas recommandés pour une utilisation en milieu hospitalier, leur capacité de filtration permet d’offrir un masque de qualité grand public. Nous pouvons ainsi aider à répondre à l’appel de Dre Theresa Tam, administratrice en chef de la santé publique du Canada qui recommande aux Canadiens de porter un masque non médical à l’extérieur de leur demeure. Nous pourrons ainsi permettre aux équipes de première ligne de garder les équipements médicaux pour eux, plutôt que d’être utilisés par le public. Porter un masque non médical aide à protéger les autres et se protéger ! Les masques EC3D doivent être considérés comme une barrière physique pour bloquer les gouttelettes de salive (postillons) émises par des personnes qui éternuent à proximité ainsi que pour bloquer les gouttelettes émises par la personne qui porte le masque. Ils constituent aussi une barrière main-bouche (Pour tous ceux qui se touchent le visage trop souvent !). Les masques EC3D lavables et réutilisables sont fabriqués avec une fibre de cuivre qui peut activement combattre les bactéries, pour éventuellement les détruire en une durée approximative de quatre heures (comparativement à une surface régulière où les bactéries pourraient demeurer actives pour une durée estimée entre 24 heures et quatre jours). Et avec un taux de filtration de 84,4% BFE, ils sont certainement plus efficaces qu’un foulard ! Le port d’un masque ne doit toutefois pas entraîner un relâchement dans le respect des directives relatives à l’éloignement social, au lavage fréquent des mains et au confinement à la maison. Des mesures qui nous permettront d’éventuellement vaincre ce virus ! En parallèle, nous allons continuer notre travail pour développer un autre masque qui pourrait, cette fois-ci, atteindre un niveau de filtration BFE de 95%.
