Everyone say, "Mummers"!! A special thank you to our staff member, Jenn, for sharing some of her Newfoundland holiday culture, and teaching all of us about mummering!

Tis the season to GIVE! We are collecting donations for our local food bank and we need your help! Nonperishable food items, toiletries, and outdoor clothing are what they are most in need of and we would love for our community to come together to help those in need this Holiday Season.... Have an extra box of KD? Drop it off! A gently used winter coat? We'll take it! If everyone gives one thing, we can make a huge impact! Donations can be dropped off in front of our centre, 557 Saint Marys St, until December 1st. Thanks everyone, your generosity is appreciated!

*PD DAY MINI CAMPS UPDATE* We have decided to open a few more spots for our PD Day Mini Camps! Friday, November 20th - Art Exploration Camp (3 spots available)- Guided and open-ended activities using various mediums... Friday, December 4th - LEGO Camp (1 spot available)- All. Things. LEGO. Hours for these days is 8 am - 5 pm and the cost for our mini camps is $40 per child, per day. Open to children ages 5 to 12 Email [email protected] to register We also have a few spaces left for our Holiday Camp - Dec. 21, 22, 23rd. This camp will feature Holiday traditions from around the world, a pyjama party, holiday baking, decorations and all things festive! The cost for this camp is $120.

Things I never thought I would have to explain to a child: Record Sleeves "What IS this? And who is that guy on the back?" Well Children, this is a record sleeve. Back in the day you would listen to music on a giant black disc called a record and to store it you would keep it in this cardboard sleeve. *blank stares*... That guy on the back is the singer, his name is Rod Stewart. *more blank stares* Lol... We upcycled sleeves into board game bases and I've got to say we had a lot of fun making and playing our games... Sorry, Rod.
