Hey everyone, help our Stone Mills "support local initiative" by liking and sharing this post please! Charlie Detlor's famous Maple Syrup is available at the old Detlor's store location in Enterprise, Thursdays from 10 to 7, or purchase this wonderful stuff anytime by contacting Marilyn at +1 613-650-9358 (text or phone) she accepts etransfer if that works for you, and can leave it out for pick up at the house. Price list is in this post. (great local syrup on pancakes, str...aight up, even mixed in your favorite beverage...maple whiskey anyone? All yummy!!!) Attention Stone Mills Community. We need your help recognize the accomplishments of six wonderful Stone Mills students. Please share this post and make a plan to participate! These great kids, Johnathan Bennett, Lucas Holland, Elly King, Madi Lyman, Devlin Patrick and Morgan Rines are graduating from our beloved and historic Enterprise Public School. But due to Covid-19 regulations they will not get a formal graduation...it's heartbreaking for these kids and many others this... age all across the country. So, as a substitute, the parents are trying to make this time special and momentous by arranging a parade / drive-by for these students to acknowledge their accomplishments. On June 23rd at 6pm. they will be at the main corner park in Enterprise (AKA Detlor's Hill) at County Road #14 and School Road, in their graduation attire! We invite parents, friends, teachers, classic car clubs, fire departments, motorcycle enthusiasts, and anyone else who wants to be part of this special occasion to join us! The kids will never forget it and a video of the event will be provided to each student for them to cherish for years to come. Be part of it! Make a sign, or just honk your horn and see these kids smile, they have had most of their grade 8 year stolen from them.....lets make a difference!! The graduates will be social distancing in the park and with the new restriction of social gathering of up to 10 people we are within regulations. Please help us make this special and a memory they will never forget in relation to their time at Enterprise Public School. Let's show them what great people can do. Unfortunately due to the closure of all venues in Stone Mills Township going forward, the dance at the Enterprise Hall featuring Hicktown is postponed for some time. If you have purchased tickets online, you may either keep them for the new date to be announced or we can refund your money. You may also choose to donate the funds to our cause, as all proceeds fund projects in our community. Let us know your preference. We will advise about the new date when all this has passed.

Unfortunately due to the up and down weather (and more warm weather coming next week AGAIN) The rink has no ice and is probably done for the season. Sorry folks, we did our best but it was just one of those years.

We Need Your Help! If anyone has an atv plow and a snowblower or two, we need to clear off the rink, looks like good flooding temps tonight! The rink snowblower is working ok, and its just inside the rink house. But we need to push the snow off the ice or to the boards first. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! (I would do it with the tractor but I am Belleville working today) Thanks all!!!!

Due to the efforts of our dedicated (and great looking) volunteers, the Enterprise Rink is ready for skaters. Some shovelling needed, but good to go otherwise! Special shout out to Joe Payne for arranging the atv plows that made flooding possible, and to Paul Drew who not only stayed till 130am on the first flood night, but he returned at 6am and flooded again for more than 5 hours! WOW... Way to go guys, it gonna be a short season but at least its happening.

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers here at the rink, it's now open for skating! Some shovelling will be in order to clear it up some, but then you are good to go. Special thanks to Joe Payne for organizing the snow clearing efforts, and to Paul Drew who not only flooded till 1am one night, but he also returned at 6am the next day (just 5 hours later) and flooded again till noon! Wow Enjoy it while it lasts, warmer temps coming again it seems.

Well, needless to say, this winter has not been one for making ice, that's for sure! To make the initial flooding effort worthwhile, we must see sustained -5 or lower temps for an extended period...it often takes over 30 hours to put the ice in, so it must makes sense. These plus 5, 7 and even 10 degree days have really been a challenge. That being said, our group of awesome volunteers are planning to begin ice making late this week, so hopefully we can get the kids skating soon. Stay tuned!

The Enterprise Rink season approaches! Thanks to Jeremy and Mason Pitche, Bill Holland, Joe Payne, and Colt and Rob Fenwick for spending a nasty, wet evening last Wed prepping the rink and cleaning out the messy rink house for flood season. It's incredible the mess of leaves and weeds, sticks etc that have to be removed every year before it freezes down. We could have filled a truck! Thanks to Don Fenwick for the use of TWO Kubota tractors to assist with the job!

Tomorrow night the Halloween parties in Enterprise will be rocking...see you there!
