Last call to register for the upcoming Equine Guelph course from The Horse Portal... The course has provided me with many tools to keep me safe when riding and working with my horse. The IN GATE - session #2 is coming up on Sunday, Nov. 22nd at 2:00pm at Geary Hill Stables. Session 1 taught you all about the rules and expectations for attire and tack in hunter, jumper, dressage, and cross country events. Now, let's look at what happens in the ring. In Session 2, we'll look at: ... The types of classes available, what the differences are, and how to choose. How do you enter a show, what happens in the ring, what will the judge be looking for? How are the eventing competitions such as derbies and combined tests different from a horse trial or 3-day event? How do you prepare for and ride a dressage test? What do the marks and directives mean? What about using a caller? Should I enter hunter or jumper classes? What level or division should I enter? And more...! This week's speakers are all competition coaches with decades of experience. Please join us at The In Gate and start planning your show season now.
