We would like to thank each and every student who sent in photo submissions for the 2020 Halloween Costume Photo Contest. We were completely overwhelmed with the number of entries! We were presented with very difficult choices as every photo was worth a prize, so in addition to the 3 Overall Top Winners, we have added 1 Most Adorable Costume Winner and 1 Scariest Costume Winner. We are very pleased to announce EMA student Antian Jiang for winning the Third Prize of Category Three (Ages 12-15) at the 2020 StayHome International Piano Competition in October. Huge congratulations to Antian and keep up the excellent work!

Congratulations to EMA student Doris Li for receiving the Canadian Young Artist Standards of Excellence Award by Steinway & Sons! At thirteen years old, Doris is an accomplished pianist, violinist and dancer, as well, she actively participates in music education and charity events. Congratulations once again to Doris for receiving such an honour and being a wonderful role model for many!

A big shout-out to EMA students Chelsea Gu and Antian Jiang for their wonderful achievements at the 2020 Toronto Steinway Piano Competition! Chelsea received the Best Baroque Performance Award, the Best Classical Performance Award as well as the Overall Award in the Aged 7-9 Division; Antian received the Gold Award in the Aged 10-13 Division. Our most heartfelt congratulations to these two incredibly talented young girls!

Congratulations to Dr. Michael Esch, a recipient of the 2020 Teacher of Distinction Award by the Royal Conservatory of Music. According to the RCM, this prestigious annual award is given to leaders in the field of music education, recognized for their contributions of creativity, dedication, innovation, and passion. Through their years of teaching experience, they provide mentorship to other teachers and instill a lifelong love of music in their students.
