Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! A good night for the Essa Fire Department Station Two Santa Tour that is! Here's the route; Santa will leave St...ation Two around 6pm tonight. It may take him some time to get to your street...even with lights and sirens, fire trucks aren't as fast as reindeer. Remember, Santa has a busy night a head of him and we want to keep him safe and healthy, so COVID-19 rules apply! Wave to him from your own porch or driveway! And one last thing, if there is an emergency somewhere in the community and that will take priority. See more

Lots goes on behind the scenes at the Essa Fire Department so that we can respond to our community. Communications is the the life line for both the public and... our firefighters. Your 911 calls are answered, and then we are dispatched by the trained professionals from the Barrie Fire and Emergency Services. For years fire services ran on analog radios; and now we are all converting to digital systems. Implementation is both highly technical and expensive. Essa Council adopted a staged process for our digital change over; now, all your fire department's radio tech is state of the art; ensures public and firefighter safety; and is cost effective. Commencing December 29th, 2020, we're going "live" with our new digital radios - front to back. That means from dispatch to the pagers that summon your volunteers, to the radios we use in the truck and on scene. #barriefire #digital #radio #publicsafety #essatownship #community #nrc #telequip #signumwireless
