DIY pendant light! Love it when my DIYs actually work out how I envisioned them in my head. I have been staring at our same old bedside lamps for a while now. It’s been maybe 2 yrs or so that I planned to do something to change them. Never finding time, money or energy to set aside for that project. In the last couple months I’ve been realizing I just wanted to eliminate the clutter. Have space to set things down on our nightstands without struggling with the lamp base, chor...ds & darned dusting. So a pendant lamp was my next plan. This little jute floating lamp shade came to me in a epiphany out of desperation to find a quick but good solution - finally. And it was all handmade by me - frame et all! It quite literally took maybe under 40 mins to complete 1! I am quite pleased with the results. And the best part....it was quite affordable! Want to know how? Summoning spring with my updated wreath. Our Christmas one was looking tired. This is my zen. Making wreaths and floral arrangements bring me into a space in my mind that is rejuvenating almost like meditation. Is that possible? A little worse for wear, but we still made something happen....a year later! When date nights were basically non existent or few and far between, even in a time when things were normal , this past year has simply pushed out any room for any self indulgence or alone time as a couple. So when this past week, the hubby had booked some vacation to offset the low hrs at work and to take care of some important personal checklist items, we managed to carve out some time for ...us while the LO was in daycare. Brief but nice nonetheless. The weather could have been a little more cooperative, but eh! We take what we can get In typical European fashion, this consisted of baguette, cheese & some drinkies of the alcoholic variety. Took me right back to summer vacations with family back in Hungary. As a VM this warms my heart to see great initiatives like this.A fantastic way to pivot their skills. I feel for all those in my industry. It made a huge difference to our kids. The yards were all nicely decorated - the kids could grab their treats as we spread out and took turns visiting each yard. ...
